Texas does not require a state-issued license for this role. Most hiring managers look for a Lean Six Sigma certification from a recognized body such as ASQ, along with demonstrated experience improving measurable business outcomes in a corporate or consulting setting.
How much do business process consultants make in Texas?
Business process consultants in Texas earn a median of about $101,400 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $62,730 for the lowest 10% to over $168,420 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire business process consultants in Texas?
Employers hiring business process consultants in Texas right now include RSM, JPMorganChase, and Map, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Texas's concentration of energy headquarters, major financial institutions, and global technology companies means demand stays consistent across multiple industries year-round.
Which Texas cities have the most business process consultant jobs?
Plano, Houston, and Austin have the most business process consultant openings in Texas. Houston leads because of its density of energy and petrochemical headquarters, Dallas draws demand from financial services and logistics firms based in the Metroplex, and Austin's rapid technology sector growth has created a steady pipeline of process improvement roles at both large enterprises and scaling companies.

Yes, and more than most fields, since the work centers on analysis, documentation, and stakeholder workshops that translate well to virtual delivery. About 100% of business process consultant openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the role's desk-and-analytical nature. Discovery phases and executive alignment sessions are most commonly conducted remotely, while implementation and go-live support often require on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a business process consultant in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a business analyst or operations analyst role at a large Texas employer such as a major energy company, health system, or regional bank, then transitioning into process consulting after demonstrating measurable improvement work. Rotational analyst programs at Dallas-area financial firms and Houston energy companies regularly hire candidates without direct consulting experience. Earning a Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt through ASQ while still in school or early in your career gives you a concrete credential Texas hiring managers recognize.
