Solutions Consultant Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a solutions consultant in Texas?
The most direct path is a bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or information technology combined with hands-on experience in sales engineering or technical support. Solutions consulting in Texas carries no state-issued license or exam, so employers rely on demonstrated product knowledge, certifications from vendors like AWS, Salesforce, or Microsoft Azure, and a portfolio of client outcomes. Texas's large enterprise technology sector means many candidates enter through internal promotions from support or account management roles.
Which companies hire solutions consultants in Texas?
Employers hiring solutions consultants in Texas right now include Bank of America, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and Boston Consulting, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters and major technology campuses in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and Austin corridor means demand from both established enterprise vendors and fast-growing SaaS companies is consistently strong.
Which Texas cities have the most solutions consultant jobs?
Dallas, Austin, and Houston hold the most solutions consultant openings in Texas. Dallas-Fort Worth leads because of its dense cluster of enterprise software vendors and corporate headquarters, Austin draws heavily from its expanding technology startup and cloud services ecosystem, and Houston's energy and industrial sectors generate steady demand for technical consultants aligned to operational software and infrastructure solutions.
Are there remote solutions consultant jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 25% of solutions consultant openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the role's desk-based, client-call-driven nature. Pre-sales and SaaS implementation work translates well to distributed arrangements, though roles requiring on-site product installations or in-person executive briefings at Texas client headquarters typically stay hybrid or on-site.
How can I get hired as a solutions consultant in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a sales development representative or technical support role at a Texas-based technology company, which builds the product knowledge and client communication skills employers look for. Large Texas employers like Dell Technologies and Oracle run associate consultant and rotational sales engineering programs that accept candidates without direct consulting experience. Earning a vendor certification in Salesforce, AWS, or Microsoft Azure and building a small portfolio of demo presentations substantially strengthens an early-stage application.
Where can I find and apply to solutions consultant jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to solutions consultant jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across Dallas, Austin, Houston, and the broader state. Find roles that fit your experience and specialty and apply directly to each one.
