Quality Assurance Analyst Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a quality assurance analyst in Texas?
Most quality assurance analyst roles in Texas require a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a closely related field, though some employers accept an associate degree combined with demonstrated testing experience. Texas does not issue a state-specific license for QA analysts, so candidates typically strengthen their candidacy through industry certifications such as the ISTQB Certified Tester or CSTE designation, both recognized by Texas employers across technology, aerospace, and healthcare IT.
How much do quality assurance analysts make in Texas?
Quality assurance analysts in Texas earn a median of about $101,850 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $59,010 for the lowest 10% to over $153,380 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire quality assurance analysts in Texas?
Employers hiring quality assurance analysts in Texas right now include Apple, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and Houston Methodist, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's large concentration of technology product companies, defense contractors, and healthcare systems means QA demand is distributed across multiple industries rather than confined to a single sector.
Which Texas cities have the most quality assurance analyst jobs?
Austin, Plano, and Dallas account for the largest share of quality assurance analyst openings in Texas. Austin's dense cluster of software and semiconductor companies drives much of its volume, Dallas benefits from major corporate headquarters and financial technology firms, and Houston's energy and healthcare sectors generate steady QA demand for both software and regulated-product validation roles.
Are there remote quality assurance analyst jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields, since quality assurance analysis is primarily a desk and software-based discipline that translates well to remote work. About 19% of quality assurance analyst openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting broad employer acceptance of distributed QA teams. Roles centered on automated testing and software validation tend to be the most remote-eligible, while positions involving physical product inspection or on-site lab testing typically require in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a quality assurance analyst in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for junior QA analyst or software tester associate roles at mid-size Texas technology companies, which frequently hire candidates who demonstrate hands-on skills through a personal testing portfolio or open-source contributions rather than years of work history. Dell Technologies and Texas Instruments run structured early-career programs that include QA rotations for recent graduates, and lateral moves from roles in technical support, data entry, or business analysis are common stepping stones into QA at Austin and Dallas employers. Earning an ISTQB Foundation certification before applying gives candidates a measurable edge in a competitive entry-level field.
Where can I find and apply to quality assurance analyst jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to quality assurance analyst jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers hiring across the state right now. Find the roles that fit your background and apply directly through each listing.
