Security Product Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a security product manager in Texas?
Most security product managers in Texas move into the role from a technical background in software engineering, cybersecurity analysis, or IT consulting, combined with product management experience. Texas employers consistently look for candidates who hold a bachelor's degree in a technical field and have hands-on exposure to security tools or platforms. Certifications like CISSP or CISM strengthen a profile considerably, and Austin's and Dallas's dense tech ecosystems offer a practical path through lateral moves from security engineering or solutions architecture roles.
Which companies hire security product managers in Texas?
Employers hiring security product managers in Texas right now include Amazon, Apple, and Cisco, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of defense contractors, major financial institutions, and enterprise software companies means demand is distributed across both large corporations and fast-growing cybersecurity startups, particularly in the Austin and Dallas metro areas.
Which Texas cities have the most security product manager jobs?
Austin, Cedar Park, and Dallas have the most security product manager openings in Texas. Austin's technology startup ecosystem and headquarters for companies like Dell and CrowdStrike drive the largest share of openings, while Dallas benefits from its financial services sector and enterprise tech hubs, and Houston's energy and defense industries support a steady pipeline of security product roles.
Are there remote security product manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 50% of security product manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the desk-based, cross-functional nature of the role. Strategy, roadmap planning, and stakeholder collaboration work lends itself well to remote arrangements, though roles tied to classified government or defense contracts often require on-site presence in Texas.
How can I get hired as a security product manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is transitioning from a technical adjacent role, such as security analyst, solutions engineer, or IT consultant, where you already work closely with product teams. Large Texas employers like Dell Technologies and Lockheed Martin run associate product manager programs and rotational tracks that are open to candidates with technical backgrounds but limited formal product management experience. Building a portfolio of product thinking through side projects, contributing to open-source security tools, or earning a Certified Product Manager credential helps candidates stand out in the Austin and Dallas markets.
Where can I find and apply to security product manager jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to security product manager jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across Austin, Dallas, Houston, and beyond. Find roles that fit your experience and specialization and apply directly to each one.
