Group Product Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a group product manager in Texas?
The most direct path is building several years of individual product management experience before moving into a group role that carries people management responsibility. Texas employers, particularly in Austin's technology corridor and Dallas's enterprise software sector, typically promote from within or hire candidates who have already managed a product portfolio and informally mentored junior PMs. There is no state-issued license or credential required to work as a group product manager in Texas, so the focus should be on demonstrating leadership scope and strategic ownership.
How much do group product managers make in Texas?
Group product managers in Texas earn a median of about $147,880 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $81,820 for the lowest 10% to over $259,200 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire group product managers in Texas?
Employers hiring group product managers in Texas right now include PowerSchool, Boston Consulting, and Citi, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of enterprise technology, financial services, and telecommunications companies means openings tend to require experience with large-scale platform products or complex B2B environments.
Which Texas cities have the most group product manager jobs?
Dallas, Austin, and Irving have the most group product manager openings in Texas. Austin leads because of its dense concentration of technology company headquarters and high-growth SaaS firms, while Dallas draws demand from large enterprise and financial services employers, and Houston adds openings through its energy technology and healthcare IT sectors.
Are there remote group product manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 10% of group product manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how naturally the role fits distributed collaboration. Strategic planning, roadmap reviews, and stakeholder alignment work are the functions most commonly performed fully remote, while hands-on team coaching and cross-functional launch coordination more often require periodic in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a group product manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is landing an individual contributor product manager role first, then building toward a group manager title as you accumulate leadership scope. In Texas, large employers like Dell Technologies and AT&T run structured associate product manager programs that accept candidates from adjacent roles such as business analyst, program manager, or UX researcher. Building a portfolio that demonstrates cross-functional ownership, presenting at Austin-area product management meetups, and earning a certification from the Product School or similar programs can meaningfully strengthen a less-experienced candidate's application.
Where can I find and apply to group product manager jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to group product manager jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings updated regularly. Find roles that fit your experience and apply directly without creating an account or signing up.
