The typical path starts with a bachelor's degree in a technical or business field, followed by several years in individual contributor product roles before moving into group-level leadership. New York employers in fintech and media often prioritize candidates who have managed product portfolios at scale, and certifications from the Association of International Product Professionals can strengthen a profile.
How much do group product managers make in New York?
Group product managers in New York earn a median of about $181,200 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $104,140 for the lowest 10% to over $324,310 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire group product managers in New York?
Employers hiring group product managers in New York right now include Boston Consulting, Citi, and Google, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's density of fintech, media, and enterprise software companies means group product manager roles appear across both large publicly traded firms and well-funded growth-stage startups headquartered in the city.
Which New York cities have the most group product manager jobs?
New York, Brooklyn, and Lancaster have the most group product manager openings in New York. New York City accounts for the large majority of listings, driven by its concentration of fintech firms, major media companies, and global technology offices in Midtown and the Flatiron District, while smaller markets outside the city reflect satellite offices or remote-eligible roles tied to New York-based employers.
