What you’ll do day-to-day
- Act as the main technical liaison with the vendor for the firm's compliance technology, ensuring clear communication and alignment on priorities.
- Partner with Compliance stakeholders to gather requirements, recommend work sequencing for the vendor, and represent the firm's interests in product roadmaps and release assessments.
- Evaluate new vendor product offerings for fit with the firm’s needs and coordinate user acceptance testing, securing business-owner sign-off before production releases.
- Plan and oversee the multi-year transition of selected compliance applications from the vendor to internal teams, collaborating on knowledge transfer, handover, and cutover while maintaining continuity of legacy systems.
- Maintain an inventory of technical dependencies on vendor systems, participate in design and architecture reviews, monitor for new dependencies, and manage day-to-day vendor interactions, including tracking delivery, reviewing proposals, and raising risks or issues.
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.
- Five to ten years of experience in technical product management, product development, or technology vendor management, ideally within a financial technology firm, asset manager, or hedge fund.
- Experience insourcing applications or transitioning them from external vendors to internal teams is highly preferred, as is direct experience managing external technology vendor relationships, including scope, timeline, and delivery quality.
- Technical background sufficient to engage with engineering teams and vendors on system architecture, integrations, and data flows, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to varied audiences.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, organizational, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to influence technical decisions and balance competing priorities.
- Knowledge of financial markets, trading, and relevant regulations; experience with trading platforms or compliance-related software is a plus.
- Prototyping experience and familiarity with Python, Java, and/or SQL is preferred, as is exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- The expected annual base salary for this position is $200,000 to $275,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
