Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who’s naturally curious, brings energy, and is genuinely excited about what technology can do for a growing law firm. This isn’t a “keep the lights on” role — we want someone who spots opportunities, thinks ahead, and actually gets things done. You’ll need the confidence to build trust with partners, along with the mindset to challenge how things have always been done.
This is an entrepreneurial environment — things move quickly, initiative is valued, and people are expected to take ownership. If you’re looking for a role where you can make a real impact, shape how technology is used across the firm, and help a high-performing business stay competitive, this could be a great fit.
Who We’re NOT Looking For
A pure “keep the lights on” IT manager who focuses only on maintenance and support without thinking strategically.
Someone overly theoretical or hands-off who prefers designing strategy but not owning execution or outcomes.
A rigid, process-heavy operator who struggles in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment or hesitates to challenge the status quo.
Compensation & Benefits
- Total compensation of $150,000 – $175,000, based on experience.
- Comprehensive benefits package.
- Hybrid work arrangement: 4 days onsite at our Manhattan office; remaining days remote.

New York employers typically require a bachelor's degree in a technical field, progressive experience managing complex engineering or infrastructure programs, and often a PgMP or PMP credential from the Project Management Institute. Candidates who have led large delivery organizations inside financial services, healthcare technology, or enterprise software move most quickly into director-level searches in this market.
How much do director of technical program managements make in New York?
Director of technical program managements in New York earn a median of about $214,300 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $134,870 for the lowest 10% to over $323,670 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire director of technical program managements in New York?
Employers hiring director of technical program managements in New York right now include City of New York, ARNOLD & PORTER LLP, and Blueflame AI, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's deep concentration of global financial institutions, major media conglomerates, and enterprise technology firms means director-level program management demand here is unusually broad across industries.
Which New York cities have the most director of technical program management jobs?
New York, Manhattan, and New York City account for the most director of technical program management openings in New York. New York City dominates because the headquarters density of global banks, insurance carriers, and media companies creates persistent senior demand, while Buffalo and Albany draw from state government IT initiatives, regional financial institutions, and the growing healthcare technology corridor in western New York.
Are there remote director of technical program management jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 44% of director of technical program management openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how well the strategic and coordination-heavy nature of the role translates to distributed work. The portions most commonly offered remotely are portfolio planning, stakeholder reporting, and cross-team program governance, while roles tied to on-site infrastructure delivery or regulated financial operations tend to require in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a director of technical program management in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving up through a technical program manager or senior program manager role inside a large New York organization before targeting the director level. Employers such as JPMorgan Chase, Verizon, and major healthcare systems in the New York City metro run rotational leadership development and associate program manager tracks that place candidates without director-level history into structured pipelines. Earning a PMP credential and building a portfolio of delivered large-scale programs, even as an individual contributor, signals director readiness to New York hiring managers more reliably than tenure alone.
