Quality Assurance Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a quality assurance manager in Texas?
A bachelor's degree in engineering, life sciences, or a related technical field is the standard starting point for quality assurance manager roles in Texas. Texas does not require a state-issued license for most QA manager positions, but earning a Certified Quality Manager or Certified Quality Engineer credential from the American Society for Quality carries significant weight with Texas manufacturers, aerospace contractors, and medical device firms. Progressing from a quality engineer or quality technician role builds the hands-on experience that Texas employers expect.
How much do quality assurance managers make in Texas?
Quality assurance managers in Texas earn a median of about $130,890 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $79,780 for the lowest 10% to over $207,880 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire quality assurance managers in Texas?
Employers hiring quality assurance managers in Texas right now include Smith Seckman Reid, Apple, and Walmart, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of aerospace primes, semiconductor fabricators, and FDA-regulated medical device manufacturers means demand for experienced QA managers remains consistent across both the Dallas-Fort Worth corridor and the Houston industrial market.
Which Texas cities have the most quality assurance manager jobs?
Austin, Dallas, and Houston account for the most quality assurance manager openings in Texas. Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston drive volume through their dense clusters of aerospace, defense, and energy manufacturing employers, while Austin's rapid expansion in semiconductor and tech hardware production has steadily added QA management roles outside the two legacy industrial metros.
Are there remote quality assurance manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're limited, because quality assurance management typically involves hands-on oversight of production floors, supplier audits, and physical product inspections. About 4% of quality assurance manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting that the role is largely site-dependent. The portions of the job most likely to be performed remotely are documentation review, compliance reporting, and supplier quality system assessments.
How can I get hired as a quality assurance manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a quality technician, quality inspector, or quality engineer role first, then advancing once you've built direct industry experience. Large Texas manufacturers such as aerospace contractors in Fort Worth and medical device companies in the Austin and Dallas areas regularly post associate quality engineer openings that do not require prior management experience. Earning an entry-level ASQ certification like the Certified Quality Technician and gaining exposure to ISO or FDA quality systems documentation gives candidates a concrete edge in a competitive Texas applicant pool.
Where can I find and apply to quality assurance manager jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to quality assurance manager jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across industries including manufacturing, aerospace, medical devices, and energy. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the ones that match.
