Quality Assurance Manager Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a quality assurance manager in New York?
Most quality assurance managers in New York reach the role through a combination of a technical bachelor's degree and progressive QA experience in a regulated industry. New York does not require a state-issued license specifically for QA managers, but employers in pharma and medical devices expect credentials such as the Certified Quality Manager or Certified Quality Auditor from the American Society for Quality, which are widely recognized across New York hiring markets. Building experience in auditing, CAPA management, or regulatory submissions at a New York manufacturer or lab is the most direct path.
How much do quality assurance managers make in New York?
Quality assurance managers in New York earn a median of about $130,470 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $81,960 for the lowest 10% to over $206,450 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire quality assurance managers in New York?
Employers hiring quality assurance managers in New York right now include NYU Langone Health, Regeneron, and Upstate Niagara Cooperative, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's deep concentration of FDA-regulated pharmaceutical, biotech, and food manufacturing firms means QA manager roles turn over regularly and appear across both large multinationals and mid-size contract manufacturers throughout the state.
Which New York cities have the most quality assurance manager jobs?
The cities with the most quality assurance manager openings in New York are New York, Albany, and Rensselaer. New York City dominates because of its financial services, consumer goods, and life sciences sectors, while Long Island and the Rochester-Buffalo corridor see strong demand from pharmaceutical manufacturers, medical device firms, and food processing plants that anchor QA hiring across upstate and suburban markets.
Are there remote quality assurance manager jobs in New York?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely desk-based fields, since many QA manager roles require on-site presence for audits, manufacturing floor oversight, and lab inspections. About 14% of quality assurance manager openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026. The parts of the role most amenable to remote work include document control, supplier audits, regulatory writing, and quality system management for software or digital products.
How can I get hired as a quality assurance manager in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a QA coordinator, quality technician, or QA specialist role at a New York manufacturer or contract research organization, then building toward management. Large New York employers in pharma and food production, including those based on Long Island and in the Hudson Valley, regularly hire for associate QA roles that offer structured mentorship. Earning an entry-level Certified Quality Technician credential from the American Society for Quality and gaining hands-on experience with audit documentation or CAPA tracking gives candidates a measurable edge over others applying without direct QA titles.
Where can I find and apply to quality assurance manager jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to quality assurance manager jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current New York openings across industries including pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, financial services, and food production. Search the listings for roles that match your experience level and specialization, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
