Job Overview

As a Personal Care Assistant, you’ll provide respectful, hands-on support that helps clients and residents maintain comfort, dignity, and independence. You’ll assist with daily routines, follow care plans, and communicate observations to the appropriate care team. Work may take place in home care, home and community care, group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, hospice, or long-term care settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), personal care, dressing, bathing, mobility, and safe transfers; use a Hoyer lift when trained and directed.
• Support meal preparation, cooking, cleaning, and personal transportation assistance as assigned.
• Observe and monitor clients, report changes, and follow care plans, resident rights, privacy practices, and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
• Provide compassionate support for senior care, geriatrics, dementia, Alzheimer’s, memory care, hospice, and individuals with disabilities or developmental needs.

Qualifications

• Patient care, caregiving, direct support, client communication, and patient personal care assistance skills.
• Relevant experience may include home health, home care, group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, long-term care, or home and community care.
• Experience supporting individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or dementia is valuable.
• Knowledge of medication administration, vital signs, patient monitoring, manual handling, patient transfer methods, and safe heavy lifting is preferred.
• Current first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills are preferred; nursing experience is an asset.

Pay: $16.00 - $16.50 per hour
