Who's Hiring

Chef Jobs in Louisville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a chef job in Louisville?
The strongest path into Louisville's chef market runs through its independent restaurant scene in NuLu and the Highlands, its full-service hotels downtown, and the city's growing food and beverage manufacturing sector near the port and industrial corridor. Candidates who have worked high-volume service, can run a line under pressure, and have experience with Southern or farm-to-table menus tend to stand out with Louisville employers specifically.
Which companies hire chefs in Louisville?
Louisville chef roles are posted by Levy, KFC, and FISD and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. The local market includes a mix of independent restaurant groups, convention hotel properties, and institutional food service operations tied to Louisville's healthcare and university campuses.
Are there remote chef jobs in Louisville?
Yes, but they are rare. Hands-on kitchen roles are inherently on-site, so remote options are limited to a narrow slice of the profession. About 0% of chef openings tied to Louisville are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those positions tend to involve culinary consulting, menu development, or food content work rather than line or kitchen management roles.
How can I get a chef job in Louisville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point in Louisville is a prep cook or line cook position at one of the city's high-volume casual dining or hotel properties, where kitchens train up from within. Louisville's culinary program at Sullivan University also has employer partnerships that connect students to local kitchens before graduation. Showing familiarity with Southern cuisine, bourbon-influenced menus, or farm-to-table prep gives entry-level candidates a local edge.
