Entry Level Chief Financial Officer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level chief financial officer job?
Entry level chief financial officer roles are competitive, so candidates who stand out typically combine a finance or accounting degree with internship experience, exposure to financial modeling, and familiarity with tools like Excel or ERP software. Highlighting coursework in corporate finance, cost accounting, or auditing helps. Many employers at this level also value candidates who can demonstrate analytical thinking through case studies or academic projects.
Which companies hire entry level chief financial officers?
Companies hiring entry level chief financial officers right now include KBRA, Jobot, and KnowBe4, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. A broad mix of employers hires at this level, from growing startups building out their finance function for the first time to established corporations with structured junior finance programs.
Are there remote entry level chief financial officer jobs?
Yes, though most openings at this level tend to be on-site or hybrid. About 60% of entry level chief financial officer openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, so candidates open to in-person work will find a wider selection of opportunities across the country.
Are these new grad chief financial officer jobs?
Yes, many of the listings here are new grad and junior roles that explicitly welcome recent graduates and candidates with little to no professional experience. A new grad-friendly posting typically notes that internships, capstone projects, or a strong academic background in finance or accounting can substitute for full-time work history, making them accessible to candidates just starting out.
Which industries hire the most entry level chief financial officers?
Entry Level chief financial officer roles concentrate in Education, Healthcare & Medical Services, and Staffing & Recruiting, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors tend to drive junior finance hiring because they operate with complex budgets, frequent reporting requirements, or rapid growth that creates demand for finance talent at every level.
