Entry Level Insurance Agent Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level insurance agent job?
Start by earning your state property, casualty, life, or health insurance license, which most employers require even at the entry level. Candidates who have completed an internship at an agency or brokerage, or who can show sales experience in any field, tend to stand out. Highlight any customer-facing work, strong communication skills, and your willingness to work toward production goals.
Which companies hire entry level insurance agents?
Companies hiring entry level insurance agents right now include AAA The Auto Club, Shelter Insurance Companies, and Aflac, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a mix of national carriers, regional independent agencies, and financial services firms that train new agents and support them through state licensing requirements.
Are there remote entry level insurance agent jobs?
Yes, though many entry level roles are still on-site or hybrid while agents build client relationships and receive hands-on training. About 8% of entry level insurance agent openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, concentrated in inside sales and customer service roles where agents work by phone rather than in person.
Are these new grad insurance agent jobs?
Yes, many of these listings are new grad and junior roles that welcome candidates with zero to two years of experience, an internship background, or a recently earned insurance license. A new grad posting typically does not require a book of business and instead focuses on your communication skills, coachability, and completion of state licensing requirements.
Which industries hire the most entry level insurance agents?
Entry Level insurance agent roles concentrate in Insurance, Science & Research, and Hospitality & Tourism, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive entry level hiring because they rely on large licensed agent workforces to sell and service policies, making them consistent sources of junior openings for candidates just starting out.
