Entry Level Claims Specialist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level claims specialist job?
Entry level claims specialist roles typically look for candidates with coursework in insurance, business, or a related field, along with strong attention to detail and communication skills. Internship experience in claims, customer service, or financial services gives you a clear edge. Highlighting any exposure to claims software, case documentation, or policyholder communication in your resume helps hiring managers see you can contribute from day one.
Which companies hire entry level claims specialists?
Companies hiring entry level claims specialists right now include Liberty Mutual Insurance, CorVel Corporation, and CBCS, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. At this level, hiring comes from a broad mix of insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and regional healthcare or property and casualty firms that build their teams by onboarding and training junior candidates directly.
Are there remote entry level claims specialist jobs?
Yes, though the majority of entry level openings are still on-site or hybrid. About 80% of entry level claims specialist openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the training-heavy nature of early-career claims roles where in-person supervision is common during the first few months on the job.
Are these new grad claims specialist jobs?
Yes, many of the openings listed here are new grad and junior claims specialist roles that explicitly welcome recent graduates with little or no professional experience. A new grad-friendly posting typically asks for zero to two years of experience, accepts internships or relevant coursework in lieu of full-time history, and may offer structured onboarding or licensing support for candidates just entering the field.
Which industries hire the most entry level claims specialists?
Entry Level claims specialist roles concentrate in Insurance, Technology & Software, and Food & Beverage, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors drive the most junior hiring because high claim volumes, regulatory requirements, and ongoing staff turnover create a steady need for candidates who can be trained into the role quickly.
