Chief Operating Officer Jobs in Denver: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a chief operating officer job in Denver?
Landing a chief operating officer role in Denver requires demonstrating operational leadership in sectors the city values most, including healthcare systems, energy companies, and growth-stage tech firms. Candidates who have managed multi-site teams, led cost-transformation initiatives, or scaled operations through a funding round stand out. Networking through Denver's startup ecosystem in RiNo and the Finance District also opens doors that cold applications rarely do.
Which companies hire chief operating officers in Denver?
Employers hiring chief operating officers in Denver right now include DaVita, CRUSOE, and MB2 Dental, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Denver's mix of established healthcare networks, midsize energy companies, and venture-backed technology firms creates steady demand for senior operations executives at various organizational stages.
Are there remote chief operating officer jobs in Denver?
Yes, though remote availability is limited given that chief operating officer roles typically require direct oversight of people, facilities, and day-to-day operations. About 81% of chief operating officer openings tied to Denver are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those tend to concentrate in software and professional services companies headquartered in the Denver Tech Center where in-person leadership is less critical than in manufacturing or healthcare.
How can I get a chief operating officer job in Denver with little or no experience?
The most realistic path into a chief operating officer track in Denver starts with a director of operations or VP of operations role at one of the city's mid-market companies or growth-stage startups in RiNo or LoDo, where smaller leadership teams mean faster upward movement. Demonstrating ownership of P&L, cross-functional coordination, or operational turnarounds at Denver-area healthcare groups or energy service firms accelerates that progression more than credentials alone.
Which industries hire the most chief operating officers in Denver?
Most chief operating officer openings in Denver sit in Technology & Software, Healthcare & Medical Services, and Food & Beverage, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Denver's role as a regional hub for healthcare administration, oil and gas operations, and technology scale-ups drives sustained executive-level demand across all three sectors.
