Client Advisor Jobs in Utah: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a client advisor in Utah?
Most client advisor roles in Utah that involve investment advice or securities require passing FINRA licensing exams, such as the Series 7 or Series 66, before you can work with clients. Licensing is administered through FINRA and overseen at the state level by the Utah Division of Securities. A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or business is the standard educational baseline, and many firms also expect candidates to complete a formal onboarding or training program before advising independently.
Which companies hire client advisors in Utah?
Utah client advisor roles are posted by JPMorganChase, KeyBank, and Strider Technologies and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Utah's concentration of financial services firms and insurance companies in the Salt Lake City and Provo corridors makes it one of the more active markets in the Mountain West for this role.
Which Utah cities have the most client advisor jobs?
Salt Lake City, Lehi, and Orem account for the greatest share of client advisor openings in Utah. Salt Lake City drives the bulk of demand as the state's financial and corporate hub, while Provo benefits from a dense cluster of fintech and insurance firms tied to Utah County's growing business corridor, and smaller metro areas appear on the list where regional bank branches and wealth management offices serve expanding suburban populations.
Are there remote client advisor jobs in Utah?
Yes, though they're less common than in purely desk-based fields, since client advisors are often expected to build in-person relationships. About 29% of client advisor openings tied to Utah are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting a market that values face time with clients. The parts of the role most amenable to remote work include portfolio reviews, onboarding calls, and plan preparation, while initial client acquisition and relationship-building tend to remain in-person.
How can I get hired as a client advisor in Utah with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a financial services associate or client services representative role at a Utah bank or brokerage, which lets you build licensed experience before stepping into a full advisory seat. Zions Bancorporation and regional credit unions across the Wasatch Front run structured associate programs that hire candidates without prior advisory experience. Completing your Series 6 or Series 7 exam before applying gives you a measurable edge over other entry-level candidates and signals readiness to firms that need licensed staff quickly.
Where can I find and apply to client advisor jobs in Utah?
You can find and apply to client advisor jobs in Utah directly on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings in the state. Search the listings to see roles that match your experience, location, and specialty, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
