Client Advisor Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a client advisor in Texas?
Most client advisor roles in Texas require a bachelor's degree in finance, business, or economics plus FINRA licensing. For investment-related positions, you'll need to pass the Series 7 and Series 66 exams through FINRA before you can advise clients on securities. Insurance-focused advisory roles require a Texas Department of Insurance license. Employers typically sponsor candidates through exam prep, so having your degree and a clean background check in place first puts you in a strong position.
How much do client advisors make in Texas?
Client advisors in Texas earn a median of about $99,160 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $46,450 for the lowest 10% to over $359,040 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire client advisors in Texas?
Employers hiring client advisors in Texas right now include JPMorganChase, Louis Vuitton, and Fendi, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of regional bank headquarters, independent wealth management boutiques, and major brokerage operations means hiring activity stays consistent throughout the year.
Which Texas cities have the most client advisor jobs?
Dallas, Austin, and Houston have the most client advisor openings in Texas. Houston leads because of its deep concentration of energy-sector wealth management clients and major bank regional headquarters, while Dallas draws volume from corporate headquarters, private equity firms, and established wealth management practices, and Austin's rapid tech-industry growth has generated a younger but fast-growing base of high-net-worth clients seeking financial guidance.
Are there remote client advisor jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely analytical roles because client advisory work typically relies on in-person relationship building. About 5% of client advisor openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the ongoing shift in how some firms handle digital-first or smaller-portfolio client segments. The roles most likely to offer remote flexibility are those focused on telephone-based financial planning or digital banking advisory rather than traditional in-branch or high-net-worth relationship management.
How can I get hired as a client advisor in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a bank's or brokerage's new associate or financial advisor development program. JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo, and Charles Schwab all run formal development programs at their Texas locations that bring in candidates without prior advisory experience and sponsor them through FINRA licensing. Lateral moves from roles like bank teller, customer service representative, or insurance sales agent are common first steps. Completing your Series 7 exam, even before you're hired, signals commitment and gives you a clear edge over other entry-level candidates.
Where can I find and apply to client advisor jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to client advisor jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to the Texas market. Find the roles that fit your background and apply directly to the ones that interest you.
