Clinical Data Specialist Jobs in Minneapolis: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a clinical data specialist job in Minneapolis?
Focus on Minneapolis's medical device and clinical research sectors, which drive the heaviest local demand. Employers along the suburban I-494 corridor and in Downtown East look for candidates with hands-on experience in EDC systems like Medidata Rave or Veeva Vault, strong familiarity with CDISC standards, and at least one industry credential such as CCRP or CDMP. Tailoring your application materials to device or biotech trial work gives you a clear edge in this market.
Which companies hire clinical data specialists in Minneapolis?

Minneapolis's hiring base skews toward large medical device manufacturers, regional health systems, and contract research organizations with Midwest operations.
Are there remote clinical data specialist jobs in Minneapolis?
Yes, though availability depends on role type: data management and biostatistics-heavy positions are frequently remote, while roles requiring on-site trial oversight or lab coordination are not. About 64% of clinical data specialist openings tied to Minneapolis are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the analytical nature of much of the work. Data review, query management, and regulatory submissions are the tasks most commonly performed remotely in Minneapolis-based roles.
How can I get a clinical data specialist job in Minneapolis with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Minneapolis is through a clinical research coordinator or data entry associate role at one of the city's hospital networks or mid-size contract research organizations, which routinely hire candidates with a life sciences degree and train them on internal systems. Community clinical trials programs and device-focused internships at suburban medtech campuses also serve as a practical bridge. Building proficiency in a major EDC platform and earning an entry-level ACRP credential strengthens any application considerably.
