Clinical Development Specialist Jobs in Alaska: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical development specialist in Alaska?
Most Alaska employers require a bachelor's degree in nursing, life sciences, pharmacy, or a related health discipline as the baseline qualification. Alaska does not issue a separate state license specific to clinical development, but registered nurses working in research roles must hold an active Alaska RN license through the Alaska Board of Nursing. Candidates strengthen their applications by earning the Society of Clinical Research Associates certification and gaining experience in GCP-compliant trial environments at Alaska health systems or tribal health programs.
How much do clinical development specialists make in Alaska?
Clinical development specialists in Alaska earn a median of about $81,860 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $48,130 for the lowest 10% to over $127,140 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire clinical development specialists in Alaska?
Alaska clinical development specialist roles are posted by Goldbelt, Ryder System, and Southcentral Foundation and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Alaska's tribal health organizations and large regional medical centers are among the most consistent sources of openings for this role across the state.
Which Alaska cities have the most clinical development specialist jobs?
Juneau, Anchorage, and Alaska account for the largest share of clinical development specialist openings in Alaska. Anchorage drives the most volume as the state's primary medical and administrative hub, home to its largest hospital systems and health insurers, while Fairbanks and Juneau contribute openings tied to regional medical centers and state government health programs.
Are there remote clinical development specialist jobs in Alaska?
Yes, and more than some clinical roles, because much of the work involves data review, protocol writing, and regulatory documentation that can be done off-site. About 20% of clinical development specialist openings tied to Alaska are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the role's analytical and administrative components. Site monitoring and on-site visit coordination typically remain in-person requirements even for otherwise flexible positions.
How can I get hired as a clinical development specialist in Alaska with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as a clinical research coordinator at an Alaska hospital or tribal health organization, where you build direct trial management experience under a senior specialist. Providence Alaska Medical Center and the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium both run clinical research programs that have brought in coordinators with adjacent backgrounds in nursing, pharmacy technician work, or health information management. Earning a GCP certification before applying and volunteering on institutional review board committees at Alaska health institutions can meaningfully strengthen an application without prior specialist-level experience.
Where can I find and apply to clinical development specialist jobs in Alaska?
You can find and apply to clinical development specialist jobs in Alaska on Migrate Mate, which lists current Alaska openings from employers hiring now. Search the roles available, identify the ones that fit your background and location, and apply directly to each position that matches.
