Clinical Registered Nurse Jobs in Philadelphia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a clinical registered nurse job in Philadelphia?
Philadelphia's strongest hiring comes from its academic medical centers in University City, large health systems anchoring Center City, and community hospitals serving North and West Philadelphia neighborhoods. Candidates with experience in critical care, med-surg, or oncology have the clearest path, but behavioral health and pediatric specialties are also in steady demand. Tailoring your application to a system's specific patient population and unit needs gives you a real edge here.
Which companies hire clinical registered nurses in Philadelphia?
Employers hiring clinical registered nurses in Philadelphia right now include Penn Medicine, BAYADA Home Health Care, and KeystoneCare, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Philadelphia's market is shaped by a dense concentration of academic health systems, nonprofit community hospitals, and specialty care centers, making it one of the more active clinical nursing markets on the East Coast.
Are there remote clinical registered nurse jobs in Philadelphia?
Yes, but they are uncommon given the hands-on nature of clinical nursing. About 100% of clinical registered nurse openings tied to Philadelphia are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those positions tend to involve utilization review, case management, or telephonic triage rather than direct patient care. Philadelphia-based insurers and care management organizations are the most likely employers for those hybrid roles.
How can I get a clinical registered nurse job in Philadelphia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Philadelphia is through a nurse residency or new-graduate program at one of the city's large academic health systems, which run structured cohorts specifically for RNs with under one year of experience. Med-surg, telemetry, and float pool positions at community hospitals in neighborhoods like Frankford and Roxborough also hire new graduates. Completing clinical rotations at a Philadelphia facility and applying internally before graduation significantly improves your odds.
Which industries hire the most clinical registered nurses in Philadelphia?
Most clinical registered nurse openings in Philadelphia sit in Education and Healthcare & Medical Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Philadelphia's role as a regional hub for academic medicine, specialty cancer care, and federally qualified health centers means those sectors generate consistently high nursing volume throughout the year.
