Clinical Support Specialist Jobs in Montana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical support specialist in Montana?
Most Montana employers require at minimum an associate degree in a health sciences field, with a bachelor's preferred for roles tied to care coordination or device support. While Montana does not issue a single state license specifically for clinical support specialists, roles involving direct patient interaction often require a current CNA certification through the Montana Department of Labor and Industry or a medical assistant credential through an accredited program. EHR proficiency and a background check are standard requirements for hospital system hiring.
Which companies hire clinical support specialists in Montana?
Montana clinical support specialist roles are posted by Aware, CHS, and AWARE and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Large integrated health systems anchored in Billings, Missoula, and Great Falls drive the majority of consistent openings across the state.
Which Montana cities have the most clinical support specialist jobs?
Billings, Missoula, and Kalispell have the most clinical support specialist openings in Montana. Billings leads as the state's largest city and home to major health systems, while Missoula and Great Falls support strong demand through their regional medical centers and the community health networks that serve surrounding rural areas.
Are there remote clinical support specialist jobs in Montana?
Yes, but they're rare. About 33% of clinical support specialist openings tied to Montana are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the hands-on, patient-facing nature of most roles in this field. The positions most likely to allow remote work are those focused on EHR training, telehealth coordination, or administrative clinical support rather than direct patient care.
How can I get hired as a clinical support specialist in Montana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is securing a CNA certification through the Montana Department of Labor and Industry and applying to new-grad or entry-level support roles at major health systems like Billings Clinic or Benefis Health System, both of which post associate-level clinical support openings regularly. Lateral moves from medical receptionist, health unit coordinator, or patient services representative roles are common stepping stones. Completing an accredited medical assistant program at a Montana community college strengthens a candidate's application considerably for roles that would otherwise require prior clinical experience.
Where can I find and apply to clinical support specialist jobs in Montana?
You can find and apply to clinical support specialist jobs in Montana on Migrate Mate, which lists current Montana openings in one place. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level, specialty, and preferred location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
