Clinician Jobs in Philadelphia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a clinician job in Philadelphia?
Focus your search on Philadelphia's dominant hiring sectors: academic health systems in University City, federally qualified health centers serving North and West Philadelphia, and behavioral health agencies citywide. Candidates with experience in underserved-population care, bilingual skills, or specialties like substance use treatment tend to move through hiring faster here. Networking through Jefferson, Penn Medicine, or Temple Health's clinical programs also opens doors that general applications often don't.
Which companies hire clinicians in Philadelphia?
Employers hiring clinicians in Philadelphia right now include Thomas Jefferson University & Jefferson Health, University of Pennsylvania, and Children's Crisis Treatment Center, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Philadelphia's market is anchored by large academic medical centers, urban federally qualified health centers, and nonprofit behavioral health organizations that hire across a wide range of clinical specialties throughout the year.
Are there remote clinician jobs in Philadelphia?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the role, since hands-on clinical work is almost always on-site while care coordination, telehealth therapy, and utilization review positions are more commonly remote. About 11% of clinician openings tied to Philadelphia are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting broader telehealth growth. Behavioral health and case management roles tied to Philadelphia-based organizations tend to offer the most remote flexibility locally.
How can I get a clinician job in Philadelphia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Philadelphia is through federally qualified health centers and community behavioral health agencies, which regularly hire entry-level clinicians and offer structured supervision. Positions like care coordinator, community health worker, or clinical intern at organizations serving Kensington, West Philadelphia, or South Philadelphia neighborhoods are practical starting points. Completing a practicum or internship with a Philadelphia-area employer is often the fastest route to a first offer.
Which industries hire the most clinicians in Philadelphia?
Philadelphia clinician roles concentrate in Education, Healthcare & Medical Services, and Agriculture & Farming, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Philadelphia's status as a major academic medical hub, combined with strong public health infrastructure and a large network of community health organizations, keeps demand across those sectors consistently high relative to similarly sized cities.
