Entry Level Cloud Infrastructure Engineer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level cloud infrastructure engineer job?
Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, is the clearest edge at this stage. Entry level employers look for candidates who can demonstrate real work through a home lab, a cloud certification, or an internship project. Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and basic Linux administration makes a resume stand out for junior roles.
Which companies hire entry level cloud infrastructure engineers?
Companies hiring entry level cloud infrastructure engineers right now include Google, Deloitte, and ByteDance, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a wide range of employers, including technology firms, managed service providers, financial institutions, and healthcare organizations building or expanding their cloud operations.
Are there remote entry level cloud infrastructure engineer jobs?
Yes, though on-site and hybrid roles remain common at the entry level. About 7% of entry level cloud infrastructure engineer openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how many employers still prefer junior engineers to work alongside senior teammates during their first year on the job.
Are these new grad cloud infrastructure engineer jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior cloud infrastructure engineer roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts internships or academic projects toward eligibility, or lists a portfolio as an acceptable substitute for full-time work history. Certifications are frequently mentioned as a way for new grad candidates to demonstrate readiness.
Which industries hire the most entry level cloud infrastructure engineers?
Entry Level cloud infrastructure engineer roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Artificial Intelligence, and Investment & Asset Management, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because they are actively migrating workloads to the cloud, scaling distributed systems, or building new infrastructure practices that require junior engineers alongside experienced teams.
