JOB SUMMARY
The Commissioning Engineer I is responsible for commissioning hardware systems in the field (noting that in‑field hardware installation is performed by subcontractors) and/or is responsible for commissioning for In-Row Heat Exchanger systems, software own systems or by customers. Acts as primary contact point in terms of latest technological solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directs Commissioning Engineers on their assigned projects by providing guidance in more sophisticated tasks
- Provides training to Commissioning Engineers in technical subjects
- Acts as technical expert supporting Commissioning Manager and Project Manager
- Responsible for executing hardware and/or software commissioning activities across multiple concurrent projects in order to achieve timeframe objectives specified by the Project Manager
- Responsible for ensuring that all hardware installation/software integration activities have been previously performed (by the subcontracted installation contractors/Systems Integrator) in accordance with the installation, integration and Quality Assurance procedures specified in the Systems Integration Handbook (as written and updated by the Systems Integrator)
- Coordinate for executing the Site L1-L5 (as written by the Systems Integrator) for all hardware/software solutions previously installed
- Responsible for the resolution of any issues encountered during Site Acceptance Testing, leveraging the assistance of the Customer Support Team and Solutions Team (if necessary)
- Responsible for maintaining an excellent knowledge of products, and the products of third-party suppliers
- Responsible for keeping up-to-date with evolutions in products and services
- Responsible for providing progress reporting to the Commissioning Manager and Project Manager for all projects being undertaken
- Responsible for maintaining good relationships with the technical and managerial staff at all customers
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to read electrical/Mechanical Schematics
- Ability on operate Liquid Cooling Systems and LV Switchgears
- Ability to operate a personal computer including using a Windows based operating system and related software
- Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil’s software packages
- Ability to write simple correspondence. Read and understand visual aid
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions
- Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs
- Ability to spend some (majority for hardware - a significant amount of travel) time at customer’s premises for the commissioning of hardware/software solutions
