The company is focused on multifamily properties developing and managing affordable rents in Washington, DC and the affordable housing needs of its residents. We are looking to fill a COMMUNITY MANAGER position, located in the Congress Heights neighborhood in DC managing 4 scattered site properties. We offer a collaborative team environment, opportunity for growth, and a chance to make a real impact in a community-focused property. The position requires the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
- A minimum of 5 years of multifamily property management experience, preferably in the District of Columbia
- Proficiency in Yardi Voyager and CRM and Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Excel and Word
- Familiarity with rent controlled properties in DC and working with RCC
- Working knowledge of Fair Housing regulations
- Ability to handle multiple tasks while experiencing frequent interruptions
- College degree or some college is preferred, but not required
- Must have own transportation and be willing to travel to all property sites. All sites are within 15 minutes of each other.
- A customer service enthusiast
- A "can do" attitude
- High marks for interpersonal, oral, and writing skills
- Excellent communication, organization, and follow-up skills
Tasks and Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Managing the collections, depositing and posting of all rent and late fees/charges, delinquencies, late notices and evictions as assigned by management.
- Creating suite lists and participating in District of Columbia Landlord/Tenant court proceedings
- Maintaining resident records
- Directing the maintenance teams
- Assisting with resident retention through proactive communication and support
- Preparing the weekly activity reports
- Saturday availability is necessary on occasion
