INTRODUCTION
Aeva’s mission is to bring the next wave of perception to a broad range of applications from automated driving to industrial robotics, consumer electronics, consumer health, security, and beyond. Aeva is transforming autonomy with its groundbreaking sensing and perception technology that integrates all key LiDAR components onto a silicon photonics chip in a compact module. Aeva 4D LiDAR sensors uniquely detect instant velocity in addition to 3D position, allowing autonomous devices like vehicles and robots to make more intelligent and safe decisions.
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Director of Sales to drive our growth in industrial automation, precision manufacturing, and factory automation markets. This role requires a strategic leader with deep expertise in laser displacement technology and high-precision sensing solutions for industrial applications. You will define market strategies, build key partnerships, and drive product adoption, working closely with engineering, sales, and marketing teams.
What you'll be doing:
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for Aeva’s laser displacement and high-precision sensing solutions in industrial automation.
- Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with OEMs, system integrators, and key industry players.
- Lead business development efforts to expand Aeva’s presence in manufacturing, robotics, and industrial automation sectors.

- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to define customer needs, market requirements, and product roadmaps.
- Represent Aeva at industry conferences and trade shows, positioning the company as a leader in high-precision sensing technology.
- Secure and develop customer relationships successfully to production.
What you'll have:
- 10+ years of experience in business development, product marketing, or strategic sales within industrial automation, precision sensing, or laser displacement technology.
- Deep technical understanding of laser displacement sensors, LiDAR, 3D camera, line-scanner, and other high-precision measurement technologies used in manufacturing and robotics.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful go-to-market strategies for high-tech industrial products.
- Strong network within industrial automation, factory automation, and high-precision measurement industries.
- Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, sales, and product management teams.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence key stakeholders.
Nice to haves:
- Background in optics, photonics, or semiconductor-based sensing technologies.
- Prior experience working with robotics, metrology, or machine vision companies.
- Experience scaling business operations in a high-growth startup environment.
- Technical degree (Physics, Engineering, or related) with an MBA preferred.
COMPENSATION
- Salary Range: $178,000 - $241,000 a year
Salary pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, certifications, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. Target roles in sensing and autonomous systems engineering
Aeva's core product line revolves around lidar technology and perception software. Engineers with backgrounds in signal processing, computer vision, or embedded systems are most likely to find sponsored roles that align with Aeva's active hiring focus.
Prioritize Green Card potential, not just H-1B
Aeva has a strong track record of sponsoring permanent residency through EB-2 and EB-3 categories. If long-term U.S. settlement is your goal, Aeva's demonstrated willingness to sponsor Green Cards makes it a strategically strong employer to pursue.
Filter for verified sponsors before applying
Not every technology company that posts jobs will actually sponsor visas. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, saving time and focusing your energy on employers like Aeva that have a demonstrated track record.
Align your resume to deep tech hardware and software experience
Aeva operates at the intersection of photonics, semiconductor design, and autonomy software. Candidates who can speak to low-level hardware integration or real-time perception systems are better positioned for roles that realistically lead to visa sponsorship.
Apply early in the calendar year to align with H-1B timelines
H-1B petitions must be filed by April for an October start date. If you're targeting Aeva for H-1B sponsorship, securing an offer by January or February gives both you and the employer enough runway to prepare a strong petition on time.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Aeva sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Aeva sponsors H-1B visas. As a technology company working on advanced lidar and sensing systems, Aeva regularly hires specialized engineers and technical professionals who require H-1B sponsorship. The company has an active sponsorship track record, so H-1B candidates with relevant expertise in areas like computer vision, photonics, or autonomy software are worth applying.
Which visa types does Aeva sponsor?
Aeva sponsors H-1B, EB-2, EB-3, F-1 OPT, and TN visas. This range covers both temporary work authorization and pathways to permanent residency, which is relatively uncommon at a company of Aeva's size. F-1 OPT holders and TN visa holders from Canada and Mexico are within scope, making Aeva a genuinely accessible employer for international candidates at various stages of their immigration journey.
What departments or roles at Aeva are most likely to be sponsored?
Sponsorship at Aeva is concentrated in highly technical roles tied to its core product areas: lidar hardware engineering, perception and autonomy software, signal processing, and systems integration. Roles requiring specialized knowledge in photonics or real-time embedded systems are strong candidates for visa support. General business, sales, or operations positions are less likely to lead to sponsorship based on the company's hiring profile.
How do I find currently open sponsored jobs at Aeva?
Migrate Mate is the most efficient way to find open, visa-sponsoring roles at Aeva. The platform filters by verified sponsorship history, so you're only seeing companies with a real track record of filing visas, not just those that claim to be open to sponsorship. Search for Aeva directly or browse by visa type to find roles that fit your authorization status.
How do I improve my chances of getting sponsored by Aeva?
Aeva's sponsorship activity is concentrated in deep technical disciplines, so candidates with highly specific skills in areas like lidar systems, FMCW sensing, or autonomous perception have the strongest positioning. Demonstrate hands-on experience with hardware-software integration and be prepared to articulate how your background supports Aeva's product roadmap. Applying early in the year also helps align your timeline with the H-1B filing window.
