Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Nursing Jobs at AltaMed Health Services Jobs
Verify your NCLEX and licensure early
AltaMed operates across California, so your RN license must be active in that state before any sponsorship petition can move forward. Start the California Board of Registered Nursing application well ahead of your job search to avoid delays.
Target bilingual and community health postings
AltaMed's mission centers on underserved communities, and many nursing roles prioritize Spanish-English bilingual candidates. Focusing your applications on care coordination or community clinic postings can strengthen your fit and improve your chances of a sponsorship conversation.
Browse open nursing roles on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter AltaMed's current nursing openings by visa type so you can identify which roles are actively open to sponsored candidates before you spend time tailoring your application materials.
Align your OPT or CPT end date with the hiring cycle
If you're finishing a U.S. nursing or healthcare program on F-1 status, map your OPT expiration against AltaMed's typical onboarding windows. Starting a role with less than six months of OPT remaining complicates the H-1B cap-gap bridge and can stall your start date.

Find Nursing at AltaMed Health Services JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does AltaMed Health Services sponsor H-1B visas for Nurses?
Yes, AltaMed Health Services has a history of sponsoring H-1B visas for nursing candidates. Registered Nursing roles generally qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS standards because they require at least a bachelor's degree in nursing. That said, sponsorship is not guaranteed for every posting, so confirm directly with the recruiting team when you apply.
Which visa types are commonly used for Nursing roles at AltaMed Health Services?
H-1B is the most common nonimmigrant visa for sponsored nursing hires. AltaMed also supports J-1 for clinical exchange visitors, TN status for Canadian and Mexican RNs, and F-1 OPT or CPT for candidates finishing U.S. nursing programs. For permanent residency, EB-2 and EB-3 green card pathways are available for qualifying nursing roles.
What qualifications and experience are expected for Nursing roles at AltaMed Health Services?
Most AltaMed nursing roles require an active California RN license and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Bilingual Spanish-English proficiency is a strong differentiator given the organization's focus on underserved Latino communities. Prior experience in community health, federally qualified health center settings, or care coordination is frequently listed in job descriptions and can set you apart.
How do I apply for Nursing jobs at AltaMed Health Services?
Applications go through AltaMed's careers portal directly. Before applying, use Migrate Mate to identify which open nursing roles are flagged as visa-sponsorship eligible, so you can prioritize postings that align with your immigration status. Tailor your resume to highlight California licensure, bilingual skills, and any community health experience before submitting.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Nursing hire at AltaMed Health Services?
For H-1B, the standard USCIS processing window runs several months after the April lottery selection, with employment beginning October 1 at the earliest. Premium processing can reduce the adjudication window to roughly 15 business days. For PERM-based green card pathways, total timelines typically extend one to three years depending on your country of birth and priority date movement.
