Tailor your portfolio to infrastructure projects
Arcadis Design Managers are evaluated on their ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across infrastructure, water, or urban development projects. Frame your portfolio around project delivery outcomes and cross-functional coordination, not just design execution.
Confirm your degree aligns with the role
USCIS requires Design Manager petitions to qualify as specialty occupations, meaning your degree must directly relate to the position. A degree in civil engineering, architecture, or urban planning strengthens your case far more than a general management credential.
Target Arcadis postings that list LCA-backed positions
Arcadis files Labor Condition Applications with the DOL before sponsoring any H-1B. Roles already in active hiring cycles are more likely to have LCA filings in progress, so prioritize open positions over speculative outreach to recruiters.
Clarify sponsorship scope during initial recruiter conversations
Arcadis sponsors multiple visa categories for this function, including OPT and TN in addition to H-1B. Ask your recruiter early which pathway applies to your situation so you can align your timeline with any USCIS filing or PERM labor certification requirements.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Design Manager roles at Arcadis
Sponsorship-eligible postings are not always flagged on general job boards. Migrate Mate filters Arcadis listings specifically for visa-sponsored Design Manager positions, saving you from applying to roles where sponsorship is unavailable.
Prepare for a structured offer-to-filing timeline
Between offer acceptance and an H-1B start date, USCIS processing and any required PERM recruitment steps can span several months. Nail down your current visa status expiry date before negotiating a start date with Arcadis to avoid a gap in work authorization.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Arcadis sponsor H-1B visas for Design Managers?
Yes, Arcadis sponsors H-1B visas for Design Manager roles. The company has a consistent track record of filing H-1B petitions for professional and technical positions within its consulting practice. Your offer letter will typically confirm sponsorship intent, and Arcadis's legal team handles the petition filing with USCIS once you have a confirmed start date.
Which visa types does Arcadis commonly use for Design Manager roles?
Arcadis sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, TN visa, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1 visa, and employment-based Green Cards including EB-2 and EB-3 for qualifying candidates. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in eligible roles. F-1 OPT and CPT are commonly used for early-career hires who are already in the U.S. on a student visa.
How do I apply for Design Manager jobs at Arcadis?
You can browse and apply for Design Manager positions at Arcadis directly through their careers portal or through Migrate Mate, which filters for sponsorship-eligible roles specifically. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect project delivery experience in infrastructure or consulting environments. Arcadis recruiters typically screen for both technical competency and experience managing client-facing projects at scale.
What qualifications and experience does Arcadis expect for a Design Manager?
Arcadis generally expects a bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering, architecture, urban planning, or a related discipline. Relevant professional licensure such as a PE or RA is an asset in many markets. Project management experience on complex, multi-stakeholder infrastructure or design projects is typically required, along with demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and consultant teams.
How do I navigate the visa sponsorship timeline after receiving an offer from Arcadis?
Once Arcadis extends an offer, their immigration counsel will assess your visa category and initiate the appropriate filing. For H-1B, USCIS cap-subject petitions can only be filed once per year with an October 1 start date, so timing your offer relative to the April lottery registration window matters. TN and OPT transfers typically process faster. Communicate your current status expiry date to your Arcadis HR contact as early as possible to avoid gaps.
