Align your credentials to U.S. project delivery standards
Arcadis project management roles frequently require a PE license or PMP certification alongside your engineering degree. Getting your foreign credentials evaluated by a NACES-approved agency before you apply removes a common bottleneck in the offer process.
Target infrastructure and environmental service lines first
Arcadis staffs Engineering Project Managers most heavily in water, transportation, and environmental remediation. Framing your resume around those sectors, with specific project types and delivery methodologies, gets you in front of the hiring teams that sponsor most consistently.
Search open roles using Migrate Mate to filter by visa type
Arcadis posts Engineering Project Manager roles across multiple service lines and U.S. regions. Use Migrate Mate to browse current openings filtered by the visa sponsorship types you need, so you're applying to positions already flagged for sponsorship support.
Clarify sponsorship scope during the offer stage
Ask your recruiter explicitly whether the offer covers H-1B filing fees, premium processing, and Green Card support through PERM. Consulting firms vary on which costs they absorb, and getting this in writing before you sign protects you later.
Understand how H-1B cap timing affects your start date
If you need a new H-1B, USCIS only accepts cap-subject petitions in April for an October 1 start. Factor this into negotiations with Arcadis so your project assignment and onboarding timeline are planned around the filing window, not against it.
Use OPT or CPT to build a consulting project track record
Arcadis regularly hires F-1 candidates on OPT into project engineer roles before sponsoring long-term. Joining on OPT gives you 12 months, or up to 36 months with a STEM extension, to demonstrate delivery performance before the H-1B transition conversation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Arcadis sponsor H-1B visas for Engineering Project Managers?
Yes, Arcadis sponsors H-1B visas for Engineering Project Manager roles. As a large multinational consulting firm, Arcadis has established processes for managing H-1B filings, including working with immigration counsel on Labor Condition Applications through DOL. Sponsorship availability can vary by service line and office location, so confirming scope during the offer stage is important.
How do I apply for Engineering Project Manager jobs at Arcadis?
You can find and apply for Engineering Project Manager positions at Arcadis through Migrate Mate, which lets you filter open roles by visa sponsorship type. Apply directly through Arcadis's careers portal once you've identified a matching role. Tailor your application to the specific service line, whether water, transportation, environment, or buildings, since each team has distinct project delivery requirements.
Which visa types does Arcadis commonly use for Engineering Project Manager roles?
Arcadis sponsors H-1B and H-1B1 visas for most Engineering Project Manager hires requiring long-term work authorization. For candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 status, OPT and CPT are common entry points before transitioning to H-1B. TN visas apply to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering classifications. Arcadis also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for longer-tenured employees.
What qualifications does Arcadis expect for Engineering Project Manager roles?
Most Engineering Project Manager roles at Arcadis require a bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, mechanical, or a related engineering discipline. A Professional Engineer license or PMP certification is frequently listed as preferred or required, depending on the service line. For foreign-educated candidates, having your credentials evaluated by a NACES-approved agency before applying strengthens your application and smooths the H-1B specialty occupation determination.
How do I plan my timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship from Arcadis?
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, USCIS opens registration in March and cap-subject employment can only begin October 1 at the earliest. That means aligning your offer acceptance and project start date several months in advance. If Arcadis files with premium processing through USCIS, approval can come within 15 business days of petition acceptance, which reduces uncertainty closer to your start date.
