Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Engineering Project Manager Jobs at Kiewit Jobs
Align your credentials to Kiewit's project portfolio
Kiewit builds and manages heavy civil and energy infrastructure, so frame your resume around field-based project delivery in power generation, transmission, pipelines, or industrial construction. A degree in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering strengthens your specialty occupation case for H-1B filing.
Target roles in active construction regions
Kiewit staffs Engineering Project Managers closest to active project sites. Search by region rather than headquarters, since sponsorship decisions are often made at the district level where the hiring need is most urgent.
Ask about sponsorship timeline before accepting an offer
H-1B cap-subject filings open in March for an October start date. If you're on OPT, confirm whether the role start date and your OPT expiration align, and whether Kiewit will file for a cap-gap extension through USCIS before your status lapses.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Kiewit's open roles by visa type
Not every Engineering Project Manager posting at Kiewit is open to sponsored candidates. Migrate Mate filters Kiewit's live job listings by the visa types they're actively sponsoring, so you apply only to roles where your immigration status is already a fit.
Prepare a prevailing wage documentation file early
For H-1B and PERM filings, DOL requires the employer to certify the offered salary meets the prevailing wage for your role and location. Gather salary benchmarks from the DOL OFLC wage library for the specific Kiewit district you're targeting before your offer conversation.
Confirm TN eligibility if you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship
Engineering roles at Kiewit can qualify under the TN visa category for Canadian and Mexican citizens, with no lottery and no annual cap. You'll need a detailed offer letter specifying your engineering duties and a relevant engineering degree to present at the port of entry.

Find Engineering Project Manager at Kiewit JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Kiewit sponsor H-1B visas for Engineering Project Managers?
Yes, Kiewit sponsors H-1B visas for Engineering Project Manager roles. The position generally qualifies as a specialty occupation given the degree requirements in engineering fields. Sponsorship is coordinated at the district level, so availability depends on where the specific role is located and the hiring timeline relative to the H-1B cap filing window each spring.
Which visa types are commonly used for Engineering Project Manager roles at Kiewit?
H-1B is the most common pathway for Engineering Project Managers at Kiewit. F-1 OPT and CPT candidates can be considered for qualifying roles. Canadian and Mexican citizens may use the TN visa given the engineering classification. For long-term hires, Kiewit has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card petitions through the PERM labor certification process with DOL.
What qualifications does Kiewit expect for Engineering Project Manager candidates seeking sponsorship?
Kiewit typically looks for a bachelor's degree or higher in civil, mechanical, electrical, or a related engineering discipline. Hands-on experience managing construction or energy infrastructure projects in the field carries significant weight. Familiarity with heavy industrial environments, safety programs, and subcontractor coordination aligns closely with what Kiewit's energy and power divisions are hiring for.
How do I apply for Engineering Project Manager jobs at Kiewit?
You can browse and apply for Engineering Project Manager openings at Kiewit through Migrate Mate, which surfaces only the roles where visa sponsorship is actively available. Apply directly with a resume that highlights field project delivery in energy or heavy civil construction. Reaching out to Kiewit district recruiters after submitting your application can help surface your candidacy faster.
How do I plan my application timeline around Kiewit's sponsorship process?
If you need H-1B sponsorship, work backward from the April 1 USCIS registration window. Kiewit would need to register your petition in March, which means an offer and internal approval process should ideally be complete by February. If you're on OPT with a STEM extension, you have more runway, but coordinate your end date with the expected I-129 approval timeline to avoid a work authorization gap.
