Align Your HR Credentials to Tech Norms
Autodesk evaluates HR candidates on experience supporting technical workforces, not just general HR. Highlight exposure to engineering, product, or software headcount planning. A SHRM-CP or PHR credential signals readiness for a mature HR function.
Target Roles With Strategic HR Scope
Autodesk's HR sponsorships skew toward business partnering, total rewards, and talent programs rather than purely administrative roles. Filter your search for positions with cross-functional scope, as these map more cleanly to specialty occupation criteria under H-1B.
Confirm Your Visa Category Fits the Role
Autodesk sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT across HR functions. If you're on OPT, confirm the role qualifies under your degree field before accepting. USCIS scrutinizes HR specialty occupation claims, so degree-to-role alignment in your offer letter matters.
Ask About PERM Timing During Offer Negotiation
Autodesk supports Green Card pathways through PERM labor certification. Raise the subject after receiving an offer, not before. Ask specifically whether the HR role has been filed under EB-2 or EB-3 previously, since that signals the company's appetite to sponsor long-term.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Active Autodesk HR Openings
Sponsorship-eligible HR roles at Autodesk aren't always labeled clearly on general job boards. Search Migrate Mate to browse current Autodesk Human Resources positions filtered by visa type, so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is already confirmed.
Account for H-1B Cap Timing in Your Application Strategy
If you need a new H-1B, USCIS registration opens in March and employment can begin October 1 at earliest. Time your Autodesk applications to land interviews in late winter so an offer can align with cap filing deadlines without a gap in authorization.

Find Human Resources at Autodesk JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Autodesk sponsor H-1B visas for Human Resources?
Yes, Autodesk sponsors H-1B visas for Human Resources roles, though the specialty occupation bar applies. Positions with defined analytical, strategic, or advisory scope, such as HR Business Partner or Compensation Analyst, are stronger candidates for H-1B approval than broadly defined generalist roles. A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is typically required to support the petition.
How do I apply for Human Resources jobs at Autodesk?
Applications go through Autodesk's careers portal. Tailor your resume to reflect experience supporting technical or product teams, since that context resonates with Autodesk's HR hiring managers. You can also browse current Autodesk Human Resources openings filtered by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles where sponsorship eligibility is already indicated.
Which visa types does Autodesk commonly use for Human Resources roles?
Autodesk sponsors several visa categories for HR professionals, including H-1B, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and F-1 OPT for recent graduates. For longer-term pathways, Autodesk also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM labor certification, making it a viable employer for candidates planning beyond their initial nonimmigrant status.
What qualifications does Autodesk expect for sponsored Human Resources positions?
Autodesk typically looks for a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field. For senior roles, experience supporting engineering or software organizations carries significant weight. Familiarity with HR systems common in large tech environments, along with any relevant certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR, strengthens both your application and the sponsorship petition.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship for an Autodesk HR role?
Timeline depends on your current status. F-1 OPT holders can start work while a cap-subject H-1B is pending, but OPT must remain valid through at least October 1. E-3 and TN holders transfer status more flexibly. For any new H-1B, USCIS registration runs in March, so targeting Autodesk interviews between January and February gives you the best chance of aligning an offer with cap filing.
