Target engineering and software roles first
Autodesk's sponsorship activity is concentrated in technical disciplines like software engineering, cloud infrastructure, and data science. These roles align closely with specialty occupation requirements, making them the strongest entry points for H-1B and E-3 applicants.
Understand Autodesk's H-1B and Green Card pipeline
Autodesk sponsors both temporary work visas and permanent residence, which signals long-term investment in international employees. If you're planning for a Green Card pathway, ask recruiters early whether your role has a defined sponsorship progression.
Australian nationals should flag E-3 eligibility upfront
Autodesk has sponsored E-3 visas, though volume is lower than H-1B. Australian applicants should proactively mention E-3 eligibility during outreach, it's faster and simpler to process than H-1B, which can make sponsorship more attractive to hiring teams.
Leverage OPT and CPT to build an internal track record
Autodesk participates in F-1 OPT and CPT programs, making internships and early-career roles a practical way to demonstrate value before requesting full H-1B sponsorship. A strong performance record internally significantly improves sponsorship outcomes.
Search for verified Autodesk roles on Migrate Mate
Autodesk posts roles across multiple locations and teams simultaneously, which makes filtering for sponsorship-eligible positions time-consuming. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and find current Autodesk openings efficiently.
Prepare for a structured technical interview process
Autodesk's hiring process for software and engineering roles typically includes multiple technical rounds. Strong candidates research Autodesk's product lines, including AutoCAD, Revit, and Fusion 360, and frame their experience around design, infrastructure, or simulation domains.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Autodesk sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Autodesk sponsors H-1B visas and is among the more active sponsors in the Technology and Software industry. Sponsorship is most common for software engineering, data, and technical product roles. The company also pursues Green Card sponsorship for employees in longer-term positions, which reflects a genuine commitment to retaining international talent beyond the initial visa period.
Which visa types does Autodesk sponsor?
Autodesk sponsors a range of visa categories including H-1B, E-3 visa, TN visa, J-1 visa, and F-1 OPT and CPT for students and early-career candidates. For permanent residence, the company files EB-2 and EB-3 petitions. This breadth of sponsorship coverage makes Autodesk accessible to a wide range of international applicants depending on nationality and career stage.
Which departments or roles at Autodesk are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Software engineering, cloud and platform infrastructure, data science, and technical product management are the departments where Autodesk's sponsorship activity is most concentrated. These roles typically satisfy H-1B specialty occupation requirements given their degree and domain specificity. Research and applied AI positions have also been active areas. Roles in sales, marketing, or general operations are less commonly sponsored.
How do I find visa-sponsored jobs at Autodesk?
The most reliable approach is to search for Autodesk on Migrate Mate, which aggregates roles from verified sponsors and lets you filter specifically by company and visa type. This is more efficient than sorting through general job listings where sponsorship status is often unclear. Focus your search on technical and engineering titles, where Autodesk's sponsorship history is strongest.
How do I approach Autodesk's hiring process as an international applicant?
Mention your visa status and work authorization category early in the recruiter screen so sponsorship can be confirmed before you invest time in technical interviews. Autodesk's interview process for technical roles typically includes coding or systems design assessments. Candidates who connect their background to Autodesk's core product areas, design software, construction technology, or manufacturing automation, tend to stand out in later rounds.
