Frame Your Background Around SaaS Business Models
Autodesk has shifted to a subscription-based model, so position your experience around recurring revenue, customer retention, and pipeline management. Resumes that speak to SaaS metrics will stand out over candidates with pure transactional sales backgrounds.
Target Autodesk's Industry-Aligned Business Units
Autodesk organizes Business Manager roles around verticals like Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Media. Identifying which vertical matches your background and applying directly to those postings improves your relevance and speeds up internal routing to the right hiring team.
Confirm E-3 Eligibility Before Applying if You're Australian
If you're an Australian citizen, the E-3 visa is a strong fit for Business Manager roles at Autodesk. Unlike the H-1B, it has no lottery and can be filed year-round, which makes it far easier for the employer to commit to sponsorship early in the process.
Use Migrate Mate to Identify Active Business Manager Openings
Autodesk posts Business Manager roles across multiple teams and regions, and openings open and close quickly. Use Migrate Mate to filter live Autodesk postings by visa type so you're targeting roles where sponsorship is already confirmed rather than guessing from a generic job board.
Clarify Sponsorship Scope During the Offer Stage
Business Manager roles at technology companies often involve promotion timelines that intersect with visa renewals or Green Card filings. Ask your recruiter directly whether Autodesk covers PERM labor certification and immigrant visa sponsorship, not just the initial H-1B or E-3 petition.
Account for LCA Timing in Your Start Date Negotiation
Before your H-1B petition can be filed, your employer must obtain a certified Labor Condition Application from DOL, which typically takes seven to ten business days. Build that window into any start date discussion so neither side is caught off guard by the required processing lead time.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Autodesk sponsor H-1B visas for Business Managers?
Yes, Autodesk sponsors H-1B visas for Business Manager roles. The company has an established immigration program that handles H-1B petitions for qualifying positions. Business Manager roles typically meet the specialty occupation standard because they require a bachelor's degree or higher in business, finance, or a related field. Your recruiter can confirm sponsorship eligibility during the offer process.
How do I apply for Business Manager jobs at Autodesk?
Apply directly through Autodesk's careers portal or browse open roles filtered by visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate. Tailor your application to the specific vertical, such as construction, manufacturing, or media, rather than submitting a generic resume. Autodesk's Business Manager hiring process typically includes a recruiter screen, a hiring manager interview, and a panel round focused on go-to-market strategy and cross-functional collaboration.
Which visa types does Autodesk commonly sponsor for Business Manager positions?
Autodesk sponsors several visa categories for Business Manager roles, including H-1B, E-3 (for Australian citizens), TN visa (for Canadian and Mexican nationals), and F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates. For longer-term pathways, Autodesk also supports EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa sponsorship, including PERM labor certification, for employees on an established career trajectory within the company.
What qualifications does Autodesk expect for Business Manager roles?
Autodesk Business Manager roles typically require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, along with experience managing partner ecosystems, channel sales, or go-to-market programs in a software or technology environment. Familiarity with Autodesk's core verticals, such as AEC or manufacturing, and experience with subscription revenue models will strengthen your candidacy significantly over generalist business backgrounds.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Business Manager role at Autodesk?
Timeline depends on the visa type. E-3 and TN sponsorship can move quickly, often within a few weeks of an offer, since both are processed at a U.S. consulate or port of entry without USCIS adjudication. H-1B sponsorship tied to the annual lottery requires registration in March, with employment beginning October 1 at the earliest. Premium processing with USCIS can reduce H-1B adjudication to roughly 15 business days once the petition is filed.
