Frame your credentials around software sales cycles
Autodesk's Business Development roles sit at the intersection of technical knowledge and deal-making. Tailor your resume to show experience with SaaS or enterprise software partnerships, not just general BD work, before you apply.
Confirm your visa type before the recruiter screen
Autodesk sponsors multiple visa categories for this function. Know exactly which status you hold and what filing timeline it requires, so you can answer the sponsorship question accurately during the first recruiter call without stalling the process.
Target roles tied to Autodesk's core verticals
Open Business Development positions at Autodesk cluster around architecture, engineering, construction, and manufacturing. Applying to roles aligned with these industries signals genuine product fit and strengthens your sponsorship case internally.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Business Development openings by visa type
Sponsorship eligibility varies by role and location within large companies. Use Migrate Mate to search Autodesk's current Business Development listings filtered to your specific visa category, so you're only pursuing positions where sponsorship is confirmed.
Address STEM adjacency if your degree is non-technical
Business Development at a technology company can attract specialty occupation scrutiny for H-1B petitions when the degree field is broad. Prepare a clear narrative linking your specific educational background to the technical components of the role.

Find Business Development at Autodesk JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Autodesk sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development roles?
Yes, Autodesk sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development positions. The company has an established pattern of filing H-1B petitions across its go-to-market functions, including roles that blend strategic partnerships with technical product knowledge. Because H-1B is subject to the annual lottery cap and a fixed October 1 start date, you'll want to align your application timeline with Autodesk's recruiting cycle accordingly.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Autodesk?
Apply directly through Autodesk's careers portal and filter by business development or partner-facing roles. Tailor your application to reflect experience in software or technology markets, since Autodesk's BD team focuses heavily on AEC and manufacturing verticals. Migrate Mate also lists Autodesk's open Business Development positions with visa sponsorship details, which can help you identify the right openings before applying.
Which visa types does Autodesk commonly use for Business Development hires?
Autodesk sponsors several visa categories for Business Development professionals, including H-1B, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and Green Card pathways such as EB-2 and EB-3. F-1 OPT and CPT candidates are also considered for earlier-stage roles. The right category depends on your nationality, degree field, and the specific seniority level of the position.
What qualifications does Autodesk expect for Business Development roles?
Autodesk typically expects a bachelor's degree in a field relevant to the role, such as business, engineering, or computer science, along with demonstrated experience in enterprise software sales, channel partnerships, or strategic alliances. For H-1B sponsorship specifically, the role must qualify as a specialty occupation, so a direct connection between your degree field and the job's core responsibilities strengthens the petition.
How do I plan my timeline when pursuing an H-1B sponsored role at Autodesk?
H-1B petitions must be filed in April for an October 1 start date, meaning you'd typically need your offer finalized by February or March. If you're on F-1 OPT, you may be able to bridge the gap using your OPT period or a STEM OPT extension, which provides up to 24 additional months of work authorization while USCIS processes your petition. Confirm your current status expiration date before negotiating a start date with Autodesk.
