Align Your Portfolio With Autodesk's Engineering Scale
Autodesk Development Managers typically oversee cross-functional teams building SaaS and 3D design platforms. Frame your resume around leading distributed engineering teams, managing delivery cycles for complex software products, and driving platform reliability or cloud migration initiatives.
Target Teams That Frequently Sponsor Internationally
Autodesk's platform engineering, Fusion 360, and infrastructure teams have recurring international hiring patterns for Development Managers. Search open roles by these product areas and prioritize applications where the job description explicitly mentions global or cross-regional team leadership.
Confirm LCA Filing Before Accepting Any Offer
Before your offer is finalized, ask whether your recruiter has initiated the Labor Condition Application with DOL. For H-1B transfers or new petitions, the LCA must be certified before USCIS can receive the I-129. Delays here push back your start date.
Understand E-3 Eligibility If You Hold Australian Citizenship
Autodesk sponsors E-3 visas for Australian nationals, and the E-3 has no lottery and a faster processing path than H-1B. If you qualify, confirm this option with your recruiter early so the company's immigration counsel files under the correct category from the start.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Active Development Manager Openings
Autodesk posts Development Manager roles across multiple business units at different times of year. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Autodesk openings by visa type and role, so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already confirmed rather than guessing from a generic job board.
Request Premium Processing If Your OPT Window Is Closing
If you're on F-1 OPT and your work authorization expires within four to five months of your projected start date, ask Autodesk's HR team to request premium processing from USCIS. Standard H-1B processing can exceed the 60-day grace period, leaving a gap in your work authorization.

Does Autodesk sponsor H-1B visas for Development Managers?
Yes, Autodesk sponsors H-1B visas for Development Manager roles and has an established process for doing so across its engineering and software product teams. The company works with immigration counsel to handle the I-129 petition and Labor Condition Application filing. If you're in H-1B transfer status, Autodesk can typically begin your employment once the petition is received by USCIS under portability rules.
How do I apply for Development Manager jobs at Autodesk?
Apply directly through Autodesk's careers site and tailor your application to the specific product team or engineering organization listed in the posting. Development Manager roles at Autodesk typically require demonstrated experience leading software engineering teams, managing delivery for SaaS or cloud products, and working cross-functionally with product and design. Migrate Mate also lists active Autodesk openings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility, which makes it easier to identify roles where international candidates are actively being considered.
Which visa types does Autodesk commonly use for Development Manager roles?
Autodesk sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, L-1, and Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for Development Managers, depending on your nationality and current status. Australian citizens are eligible for the E-3, which bypasses the H-1B lottery. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN status. For longer-term immigration, Autodesk has supported PERM-based Green Card sponsorship for senior engineering management roles.
What qualifications does Autodesk expect for a Development Manager role?
Autodesk generally expects Development Manager candidates to hold a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field. Beyond credentials, the role typically requires several years of hands-on software engineering experience before moving into management, along with a track record of leading agile teams building enterprise or SaaS software. Experience with cloud platforms, product-scale engineering, or 3D design technology is frequently cited in Autodesk's job postings.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Development Manager offer at Autodesk?
Timeline depends heavily on visa type. E-3 and TN visas can be processed within a few weeks through consular processing. H-1B transfers for candidates already in status can allow work to begin once USCIS receives the petition. New H-1B cap-subject petitions require winning the annual lottery, with an October 1 start date. PERM-based Green Card processes typically run one to three years from initiation, depending on your priority date and country of birth.
