Tailor your portfolio to restaurant tech
Chowbus builds ordering, payments, and logistics software for Asian restaurant operators. Frame your Development Manager experience around scaling distributed systems or consumer-facing platforms. Generic enterprise background without product-led engineering context is less likely to resonate.
Confirm LCA filing before accepting an offer
Before signing anything, ask whether the employer-filed Labor Condition Application with DOL is already certified or still pending. An uncertified LCA blocks your H-1B petition from moving forward, and delays here compress your start date window.
Align your degree field to the role definition
H-1B specialty occupation requires your degree to directly relate to the position. For a Development Manager role at a software company, a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Systems is the cleaner fit than an unrelated field with experience alone.
Target Chowbus roles during OPT early
If you're on F-1 OPT, apply before your 90-day unemployment threshold approaches. Chowbus sponsors CPT and OPT, so starting the conversation early gives time for onboarding, I-9 completion through E-Verify, and any cap-gap planning if an H-1B is filed on your behalf.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles
Search Migrate Mate for current Development Manager openings at Chowbus filtered by visa type. This surfaces only roles where sponsorship is active, so you avoid applying to positions where the hiring manager hasn't confirmed immigration support.
Prepare for PERM if targeting a Green Card
Chowbus sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 pathways, both of which require PERM labor certification before USCIS can adjudicate your immigrant petition. Start documenting your prior job duties, education credentials, and salary history early since PERM audits can extend the process by a year or more.

Does Chowbus sponsor H-1B visas for Development Managers?
Yes, Chowbus sponsors H-1B visas for Development Manager roles. The company operates in the technology and software space, and Development Manager positions generally qualify as H-1B specialty occupations given the degree requirements involved. Your employer initiates the process by filing a Labor Condition Application with DOL before USCIS can adjudicate the H-1B petition.
How do I apply for Development Manager jobs at Chowbus?
You can find current Development Manager openings at Chowbus on Migrate Mate, which filters roles specifically by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm immigration support upfront. From there, apply directly through Chowbus's careers page. Roles at this level typically move through a technical screen, a system design round, and a leadership interview focused on team management and product delivery.
Which visa types does Chowbus commonly use for Development Manager roles?
Chowbus sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. For Development Managers already in the U.S. on OPT, H-1B is the most common transition. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. EB-2 and EB-3 are longer-term pathways that require PERM labor certification before USCIS filing.
What qualifications does Chowbus expect for a Development Manager role?
Chowbus looks for candidates with a background in software engineering combined with direct experience managing engineering teams. Given the company's focus on restaurant technology and delivery platforms, familiarity with consumer-facing product development, distributed systems, or marketplace infrastructure strengthens your application. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is standard for H-1B specialty occupation qualification.
How do I plan my timeline if Chowbus files an H-1B petition for me?
Cap-subject H-1B petitions must be filed in April for an October 1 start date, which means your offer and LCA certification need to be in place before the registration window opens in March. If you're transitioning from F-1 OPT, cap-gap protection may extend your work authorization through September 30. USCIS premium processing is available if you need an adjudication decision within a few weeks.
