ABOUT CHOWBUS
Chowbus is a leading Asian restaurant technology SaaS platform, with deep roots in the North American market for years. Currently, we stand as a pioneering enterprise in the North American Asian Restaurant SaaS sector. Driven by precise market positioning and efficient product services, our business has achieved doubled growth annually, covering over 30 core states and 100 key cities across the U.S., and partnering with more than 10,000 Asian restaurants. We build tech ecosystems that help restaurants grow, serve with heart, and uplift their communities; our vision is to create a world where culturally rooted food entrepreneurs thrive everywhere.
THE COMPANY: JOIN OUR PRE-IPO JOURNEY
Chowbus is on a clear path to IPO. After a successful pivot to a restaurant POS SaaS platform and a recent Series E raise, we are building the financial infrastructure that will carry us from high-growth startup to public company — and we need a Controller who wants to be at the center of that transformation. This is a rare opportunity to build something that matters, with direct impact on the company's trajectory.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
You are a technically sharp, highly accountable accounting leader who is energized by complexity and committed to getting things right. You don't just close the books — you make the books better. As our pre-IPO Controller, you will drive the structure, discipline, and AI-enabled processes that define how Chowbus operates as a public entity. You bring deep GAAP expertise, a bias for action, and the leadership instincts to elevate everyone around you. You thrive in ambiguity, collaborate across the business, and take full ownership of outcomes.
WHAT YOU'LL FOCUS ON
- Responsible for driving the month-end close process. This includes the preparation of journal entries, review and approval of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, and ad-hoc GAAP guidance, all while adhering to a tight five business day close deadline.
- Responsible as the lead liaison with external audit. This includes assigning audit requests to different team members and gathering pertinent information and document support to provide to auditors to ensure final financial statements are accurately prepared to present both internally and externally.
- Responsible for overseeing proper tax reporting and research. This includes working with external tax services regarding state and federal income taxes and marketplace facilitator taxes for state sales taxes and researching tax treatments of company transactions.
- Responsible for technical accounting knowledge and compliance within the company, including proper accounting treatment of new company policies to ensure accounting accuracy.
- Lead, develop, and performance manage direct reports and develop a highly productive and high performing accounting team.
- Perform ad-hoc accounting projects and analysis that may become standard company processes.
WHAT YOU BRING
- 5+ years of progressive experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- CPA or CFA license required.
- Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, PCAOB standards, and SOX/internal controls required.
- Direct experience working with external auditors — ideally from the audit side — highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field highly preferred.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Public company or public accounting experience.
- S-1 or IPO-readiness experience is highly desirable.
- 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, or other public filing experience.
- Mandarin language proficiency (read/write/speak).
WHAT WE OFFER
- A fair compensation package
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k)
- 100% employer-paid Short-Term Disability (STD)

Job Roles at Chowbus Companies
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Chowbus Visa Sponsorship USA
Target engineering and technical roles first
Chowbus's sponsorship activity is concentrated in technology functions. Software engineering, product, and data roles are your strongest entry points if you need H-1B or Green Card sponsorship, prioritize these over generalist or administrative positions.
Mention your visa needs early in the process
At a company Chowbus's size, hiring managers are often involved in sponsorship decisions. Raising your visa requirements before the offer stage prevents late-stage surprises and signals that you've done your research on their sponsorship history.
Research Chowbus's open roles through a verified sponsor platform
Not every job board surfaces accurate sponsorship data. Migrate Mate lists verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, saving you from applying to roles where visa support was never on the table.
Factor in the restaurant tech growth context
Chowbus operates in a competitive restaurant technology market, which drives demand for specialized engineering talent. That business pressure works in your favor, companies scaling tech products in tight labor markets tend to stay active sponsors.

Does Chowbus sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Chowbus sponsors H-1B visas. The company has an active track record of filing H-1B petitions, primarily for roles in software engineering and technical product functions. If you're on OPT or already holding H-1B status, Chowbus is a legitimate employer to target. Confirm sponsorship availability directly with their recruiting team during early conversations.
What visa types does Chowbus sponsor?
Chowbus sponsors H-1B and TN visas for nonimmigrant work authorization, as well as F-1 OPT and CPT for students completing U.S. degrees. The company also supports Green Card petitions through EB-2 and EB-3 categories, meaning they've committed to long-term sponsorship for some employees beyond just the initial work visa stage.
Which departments or roles at Chowbus are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Chowbus is most consistently associated with technical roles, software engineering, backend and frontend development, data, and product management. These are the functions where specialty occupation standards are clearest and where the company has historically concentrated its filings. Non-technical roles like sales or operations are less frequently sponsored.
How do I find open visa-sponsored jobs at Chowbus?
The most reliable approach is to search for Chowbus on Migrate Mate, which surfaces only employers with verified sponsorship histories. This filters out job listings where visa support is ambiguous. From there, apply directly through Chowbus's careers page and reference your visa requirements early in the recruiter screening call.
How do I approach the H-1B sponsorship conversation with Chowbus?
Bring it up during the recruiter screen, not after an offer is extended. Let them know which visa status you currently hold, when your authorization expires, and whether you need cap-subject H-1B sponsorship. Companies with active sponsorship programs like Chowbus typically have an internal process for this, asking early helps both sides avoid wasted time.
