Frame your fintech leadership experience clearly
Plaid's Development Managers own cross-functional delivery across API and data platform teams. Document your experience leading engineers in regulated or data-intensive environments before applying, since Plaid's interview process will probe that depth specifically.
Understand the LCA before your offer lands
Plaid must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before your H-1B petition reaches USCIS. Knowing what the LCA certifies, including prevailing wage compliance, helps you ask informed questions and spot delays in the filing timeline.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open roles efficiently
Development Manager openings at Plaid vary by team and product area. Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsorship-eligible positions so you're applying to roles where your visa type is already supported, not discovering that after an offer.
Position TN eligibility if you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship
TN classification is available for qualifying management roles and doesn't require an H-1B lottery selection. If you're a Canadian or Mexican citizen with a relevant bachelor's degree, confirm with the hiring team that the Development Manager role meets DOL's TN occupational criteria before your first interview.
Prepare for the green card conversation at the right moment
Plaid sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visas, but PERM labor certification is a multi-stage DOL process that typically starts after you've demonstrated performance in role. Raise the green card question once you have an offer in hand, not during early-stage interviews.

Does Plaid sponsor H-1B visas for Development Managers?
Yes, Plaid sponsors H-1B visas for Development Manager roles. The process requires Plaid to first obtain a certified Labor Condition Application from the DOL, then file an I-129 petition with USCIS on your behalf. If you're subject to the annual H-1B cap, timing your application around the April lottery window is critical. Cap-exempt candidates can file year-round.
How do I apply for Development Manager jobs at Plaid?
Apply directly through Plaid's careers page, where Development Manager roles are listed by team and product area. Before applying, review the job description closely for engineering scope and leadership expectations. Migrate Mate is a reliable way to track sponsorship-eligible openings at Plaid in one place, so you can act quickly when a matching role is posted.
Which visa types does Plaid commonly use for Development Manager roles?
Plaid works with H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, EB-2, and EB-3 visa types for this function. H-1B is the most common path for full-time hires, while F-1 OPT and CPT cover students and recent graduates in transitional periods. TN is available for qualifying Canadian and Mexican citizens. EB-2 and EB-3 apply to candidates pursuing permanent residence.
What qualifications does Plaid expect for Development Manager roles?
Plaid typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a closely related field, combined with hands-on experience managing software engineering teams. For H-1B purposes, your degree must support a specialty occupation determination. Practical experience leading delivery in API-driven or fintech environments carries significant weight in Plaid's evaluation process.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Development Manager at Plaid?
Timeline depends on visa type. H-1B standard processing through USCIS runs three to five months after the April lottery; premium processing can reduce the USCIS adjudication window to 15 business days. TN sponsorship moves faster since there's no cap or lottery. EB-2 and EB-3 green card paths involve a multi-stage DOL PERM process that typically spans one to two years before the USCIS petition stage.
