INTRODUCTION
We believe that the way people interact with their finances will drastically improve in the next few years. We’re dedicated to empowering this transformation by building the tools and experiences that thousands of developers use to create their own products. Plaid powers the tools millions of people rely on to live a healthier financial life. We work with thousands of companies like Venmo, SoFi, several of the Fortune 500, and many of the largest banks to make it easy for people to connect their financial accounts to the apps and services they want to use. Plaid’s network covers 12,000 financial institutions across the US, Canada, UK and Europe. Founded in 2013, the company is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in New York, Washington D.C., London and Amsterdam.
The BizOps team is focused on solving some of Plaid's most pressing business issues. We are a small team of high-impact, low-ego generalist problem solvers. This role partners directly with leaders across Product and GTM on a mix of strategic and operational work with a direct, quantifiable impact on our customers, partners, and P&L. You will work on problems that directly shape how Plaid operates across its largest revenue lines and most critical partnerships — owning analysis, operating cadences, and cross-functional projects that span Product, GTM, Engineering, Finance, Legal, and Partnerships. BizOps is a launchpad: past team members have gone on to leadership roles in Product, GTM, and operational functions across Plaid. The role requires someone who is highly analytical, approaches problems in a structured manner, and is proactive in the face of ambiguity.
Responsibilities
- Driving the strategic and operational agenda for a Product or GTM organization — and the cross-functional initiatives that come with it
- Owning foundational operating rhythms — monthly business reports, QBRs, OKRs and KPIs, executive reporting — and evolving them as the business scales
- Building out dashboards, metrics, and success measures that give leadership visibility and enable data-driven decisions
- Partnering on product strategy topics including pricing, commercialization, and go-to-market for new and existing products
- Using AI tools and agents as a default part of how you work — not as an experiment, but as a force multiplier
QUALIFICATIONS
- 6–11 years in management consulting, investment banking, and/or operating roles (BizOps, Strategy & Ops, Finance)
- Comfort with ambiguity and a high degree of autonomy in prioritizing what matters most
- Ability to build relationships at all levels and drive cross-functional consensus
- Familiarity with AI tools and agents to accelerate workflows is a plus
- Knowledge of SQL and Tableau preferred
- Experience in fintech, payments, or high-growth SaaS preferred

Tips for Finding Business Manager Jobs at Plaid
Frame Your Fintech Domain Knowledge Upfront
Plaid operates in payments infrastructure and open banking, so position your resume around financial data workflows, API-driven products, or payments partnerships. Generic business operations experience reads as a weaker fit than credentials tied directly to fintech or developer-platform contexts.
Confirm Sponsorship Eligibility Before Applying
Plaid sponsors H-1B, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT, but eligibility varies by role level and team. Before your first interview, verify your visa category aligns with what Plaid's recruiting team can support to avoid late-stage mismatches.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Open Business Manager Roles
Search Migrate Mate to browse Business Manager openings at Plaid filtered by visa type. This saves time verifying which postings are actively sponsoring rather than manually parsing each job description or reaching out to recruiters cold.
Align Your OPT Timeline With Plaid's Hiring Cycles
If you're on F-1 OPT, map your authorization end date against Plaid's typical offer-to-start timeline. USCIS recommends filing OPT extensions at least 90 days before expiration, so start conversations early if your OPT window is closing within six months.
Prepare a Clear Specialty Occupation Narrative
For H-1B sponsorship, Plaid will need to document that the Business Manager role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a specific degree field. Come ready to connect your degree directly to the technical or analytical requirements in the job description.
Engage Plaid Recruiters on Sponsorship Scope Early
Business Manager roles at Plaid can span partnerships, strategy, or operations depending on the team. Confirm in the first recruiter screen whether your specific role and level fall within the positions the company actively petitions for, rather than assuming all business roles qualify equally.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Plaid sponsor H-1B visas for Business Managers?
Yes, Plaid sponsors H-1B visas for Business Manager roles. To qualify, the position must meet USCIS's specialty occupation standard, meaning it requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field. Plaid's recruiting team typically works with immigration counsel to assess each role during the offer stage, so confirm early in the process that your target position and level are within scope for H-1B sponsorship.
How do I apply for Business Manager jobs at Plaid?
Applications for Business Manager roles at Plaid go through the company's careers portal. Migrate Mate also lists open Business Manager positions at Plaid filtered by visa sponsorship type, which helps you identify relevant postings faster. Before applying, tailor your resume to reflect fintech or payments-adjacent experience, since Plaid's hiring teams prioritize candidates who understand their core API and data infrastructure products.
Which visa types does Plaid commonly use for Business Manager roles?
Plaid sponsors H-1B and employment-based Green Cards at the EB-2 and EB-3 levels for Business Manager roles. The company also supports F-1 OPT and CPT, which is relevant for candidates finishing a U.S. degree program who want to start work immediately. TN visas are available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in eligible business categories. The right path depends on your current status and the role level you're targeting.
What qualifications does Plaid look for in Business Manager candidates?
Plaid typically looks for candidates with a background in business strategy, operations, or partnerships, ideally with exposure to developer-facing products or financial data services. A bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, or a related field is generally expected. For H-1B purposes, the degree field needs to align directly with the role's core responsibilities, so framing your credentials around the specific function matters during both hiring and petition filing.
How do I manage the H-1B filing timeline when negotiating an offer at Plaid?
The H-1B cap lottery runs once per year with registrations typically opening in March and an October 1 start date if selected. If you're negotiating an offer outside that window, Plaid may need to bridge your status using OPT or another valid category until the next cap cycle. Confirm with your recruiter whether the role is cap-exempt or subject to the annual lottery, since that affects how quickly you can start.
