Verify Your Nursing License Before Applying
BAYADA requires state licensure for every School Nurse placement. If your RN license isn't yet active in the state where the position is posted, start the endorsement process early, delays here can push back your start date and your visa filing timeline.
Target Postings Linked to School Contracts
BAYADA staffs School Nurses through long-term contracts with school districts and pediatric programs. Roles tied to these contracts tend to have more stable sponsorship timelines than per-diem placements, so filter your search for full-time, contracted positions specifically.
Confirm Sponsorship Willingness During Screening
Not every BAYADA recruiter handles visa sponsorship the same way across branches. Ask directly during your first call whether the specific branch and contract support H-1B or TN processing, so you're not deep into interviews before learning the answer.
Understand H-1B Cap Timing for Nursing Roles
School Nurse positions at BAYADA typically fall under cap-subject H-1B filings, meaning USCIS registration opens each March for an October 1 start. Align your application outreach to BAYADA's recruiting cycles so an offer can be in place before registration closes.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Verified Sponsoring Locations
BAYADA operates across dozens of states, and sponsorship availability varies by branch. Search School Nurse openings filtered by visa type on Migrate Mate to identify which locations have an active sponsorship history before reaching out to recruiters.
Prepare a Credential Evaluation for Foreign Nursing Degrees
If your nursing degree is from outside the United States, BAYADA and USCIS will both require a credential evaluation confirming equivalency to a U.S. BSN or RN-qualifying degree. Organizations recognized by NACES can issue these evaluations, and processing can take several weeks.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does BAYADA Home Health Care sponsor H-1B visas for School Nurses?
Yes, BAYADA Home Health Care has sponsored H-1B visas for nursing roles including School Nurses. Sponsorship availability depends on the specific branch and the contract type attached to the position. Full-time, contracted school-based placements are more likely to support sponsorship than short-term or per-diem roles, so confirming with your recruiter early in the process is essential.
How do I apply for School Nurse jobs at BAYADA Home Health Care?
You can apply directly through BAYADA's careers portal or find their School Nurse openings filtered by visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate. When applying, note your visa status clearly in your application and raise sponsorship directly with the recruiter during your first conversation. BAYADA recruits regionally, so targeting branches in states where your nursing license is active will improve your chances.
Which visa types are commonly used for School Nurse roles at BAYADA Home Health Care?
H-1B is the most common visa type for School Nurse positions at BAYADA, as the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in nursing. TN visa classification may also apply for Canadian and Mexican RNs under the USMCA professional category. F-1 OPT and CPT can cover early-career nurses still within their work authorization window.
What qualifications does BAYADA Home Health Care expect for School Nurse candidates seeking sponsorship?
BAYADA requires active RN licensure in the state of placement for all School Nurse roles. A BSN is the standard educational baseline, and experience in pediatric, community health, or school-based nursing strengthens your candidacy. For international applicants, a credential evaluation confirming your degree's equivalency to a U.S. nursing qualification is required for both BAYADA's internal process and USCIS review.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a School Nurse position at BAYADA?
For H-1B sponsorship, the timeline runs from USCIS lottery registration in March to an October 1 start date if selected, so the full cycle can take six to seven months from offer to authorization. TN visa sponsorship moves faster and can often be completed at the port of entry in a single day for qualifying Canadian nurses. Factor in state nursing license endorsement, which can add four to twelve weeks depending on the state.
