Obtain a medical billing or coding credential
BayCare prioritizes Patient Service Coordinators with verifiable credentials like CRCR or CHAA. Holding one before you apply signals you meet the specialty requirements that justify sponsorship for a healthcare support role.
Target BayCare's multi-facility postings strategically
BayCare operates dozens of hospitals and outpatient centers across the Tampa Bay region. Applying to postings across multiple facilities increases your exposure, since hiring decisions often sit with individual department managers rather than central HR.
Clarify your OPT or CPT authorization early
If you're on F-1 status, confirm your OPT authorization covers healthcare administrative work before your first interview. BayCare uses E-Verify, so your work authorization must be clean and verifiable from day one of employment.
Ask HR specifically about H-1B cap-exempt filing
BayCare is a nonprofit health system, which may qualify it for cap-exempt H-1B filings through affiliated research or teaching institutions. Confirm this with HR directly, since cap-exempt status removes the lottery risk entirely for your petition.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Patient Service Coordinator roles
BayCare's Patient Service Coordinator openings are spread across multiple locations and update frequently. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for BayCare roles that indicate visa sponsorship, so you're applying to postings where sponsorship is already confirmed.
Align your PERM timeline with your offer letter terms
If BayCare offers Green Card sponsorship through PERM under EB-2 or EB-3, the DOL labor certification process typically takes 12 to 18 months before USCIS filing. Clarify in writing whether your offer letter includes permanent residency sponsorship before signing.

Find Patient Service Coordinator at BayCare Health System JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does BayCare Health System sponsor H-1B visas for Patient Service Coordinators?
Yes, BayCare Health System has a history of sponsoring H-1B visas for roles including Patient Service Coordinators. As a large nonprofit health system, BayCare may qualify for cap-exempt H-1B filings through affiliated institutions, which bypasses the annual lottery. Confirm cap-exempt eligibility directly with BayCare's HR team during the offer stage, since it significantly affects your timeline.
How do I apply for Patient Service Coordinator jobs at BayCare Health System?
Applications go through BayCare's careers portal, where roles are posted by specific facility and department. You can also browse verified Patient Service Coordinator openings at BayCare on Migrate Mate, which filters for positions where visa sponsorship is confirmed. Tailoring your application to the specific BayCare facility and patient population improves your chances of moving to a hiring manager review.
Which visa types does BayCare Health System commonly use for Patient Service Coordinator roles?
BayCare sponsors multiple visa categories for healthcare support staff. H-1B is the most common pathway for specialty occupation roles. F-1 OPT and CPT are accepted for students and recent graduates in qualifying programs. TN visas apply to eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals. J-1 visas are used in some training contexts. BayCare also supports Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 and EB-3 PERM filings for longer-term hires.
What qualifications does BayCare Health System expect for Patient Service Coordinator roles?
BayCare typically looks for experience in patient registration, medical scheduling, or insurance verification. A high school diploma is the baseline, but candidates with an associate degree in health information or credentials like CHAA or CRCR are prioritized, especially for sponsored roles. Proficiency with electronic health record systems and working knowledge of insurance authorization processes are practical requirements that come up consistently in BayCare postings.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Patient Service Coordinator at BayCare?
Timeline depends on the visa type. H-1B standard processing through USCIS takes three to six months from filing, with premium processing available for a faster decision. F-1 OPT authorization must be in place before your start date, so apply to USCIS at least 90 days before you need it. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship involves a DOL labor certification phase that typically runs 12 to 18 months before the USCIS petition stage begins.
