Verify Your Credentials Before Applying
Florida requires RN licensure through the Florida Board of Nursing, and international applicants must have their foreign nursing credentials evaluated through a CGFNS-approved body. Get this process started early since credential review timelines can run several months.
Target BayCare's High-Volume Specialty Units
BayCare consistently posts openings across ICU, med-surg, and telemetry units at its hospital campuses. Focusing your applications on these high-need specialties improves your odds of reaching a recruiter willing to initiate sponsorship conversations.
Browse Sponsored Nursing Roles on Migrate Mate
Filtering BayCare's open nursing positions by sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate saves you time by surfacing roles where the employer has already demonstrated willingness to file. This lets you apply with confidence rather than guessing.
Ask Recruiters Directly About Their LCA Process
Before accepting any offer, confirm that BayCare's HR team has filed a Labor Condition Application with DOL for the specific role and work location. LCA certification must precede any H-1B petition filing, so knowing where they stand early avoids delays.
Understand How EB-3 Works for Nurses
Many health systems sponsor international nurses through the EB-3 pathway, which requires PERM labor certification before an immigrant visa petition. The process takes multiple years, so clarify upfront whether BayCare is prepared to initiate PERM alongside any nonimmigrant status.

Find Nursing at BayCare Health System JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does BayCare Health System sponsor H-1B visas for Nursings?
Yes, BayCare Health System has sponsored H-1B visas for nursing roles. Because H-1B requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation, registered nursing roles that require a Bachelor of Science in Nursing are the strongest candidates. You'll want to confirm with BayCare's HR team that your specific unit and role meet that threshold before progressing through the offer stage.
How do I apply for Nursing jobs at BayCare Health System?
You can browse and apply for nursing openings directly through BayCare's careers portal. To find roles where sponsorship is a realistic outcome, use Migrate Mate to filter BayCare's listings by visa eligibility. Once you identify a suitable role, apply through the official posting and flag your sponsorship needs clearly in your cover letter or recruiter screening call.
Which visa types does BayCare Health System commonly use for Nursing roles?
BayCare supports several visa categories for nursing hires, including H-1B for specialty occupation roles, TN status for Canadian and Mexican nurses in qualifying categories, F-1 OPT and CPT for recent nursing graduates, J-1 for exchange visitor programs, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visa pathways for longer-term permanent residency sponsorship. The right category depends on your nationality, education, and career timeline.
What qualifications and experience does BayCare expect for sponsored Nursing positions?
For most sponsored nursing roles, BayCare expects active Florida RN licensure or eligibility to obtain it, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing for H-1B-eligible positions, and relevant clinical experience in the target specialty. High-need units such as ICU, telemetry, and progressive care tend to have more flexibility on years of experience when a candidate's clinical background is a strong match.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take when joining BayCare as a nurse?
Timelines vary by visa type. H-1B standard processing through USCIS runs several months, while premium processing can reduce adjudication to 15 business days. EB-3 sponsorship involving PERM labor certification is a multi-year process. TN status for Canadian nurses can often be obtained at the port of entry with same-day processing. Clarifying the pathway with BayCare's HR team early helps you plan your start date realistically.
