Tailor your resume to fintech hardware requirements
Brex operates physical card and payment infrastructure alongside its software stack. Highlight experience with hardware lifecycle management, data center equipment, or payment terminal maintenance to align with the technical environment their Mechanical Technician roles actually support.
Confirm OPT authorization before your start date
F-1 students must have EAD in hand before beginning work. For a Brex Mechanical Technician role, request your OPT application at least 90 days before your intended start date so USCIS processing doesn't delay your onboarding.
Ask about H-1B filing timelines during the offer stage
H-1B petitions for cap-subject applicants must be filed by the April 1 deadline for an October 1 start. When you receive an offer, confirm whether Brex files in the lottery registration window so you can plan around the timeline accurately.
Find open Mechanical Technician roles through Migrate Mate
Searching broadly misses roles where visa sponsorship is actually on the table. Use Migrate Mate to filter Mechanical Technician openings at Brex by visa type so you're applying to positions where your specific authorization is already supported.
Understand how PERM applies to Mechanical Technician roles
EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways require the employer to complete PERM labor certification through DOL before filing an immigrant petition. For Mechanical Technician positions, the job duties must reflect a genuine minimum requirement, so your application documents should precisely match the role description Brex submits.
Verify E-Verify enrollment before accepting an offer
Financial services firms with federal contracts are typically required to use E-Verify. Confirming Brex's enrollment status matters for TN and F-1 OPT holders specifically, since some authorization categories require employer participation in E-Verify to remain compliant throughout employment.

Find Mechanical Technician at Brex JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Brex sponsor H-1B visas for Mechanical Technicians?
Yes, Brex has sponsored H-1B visas for technical roles including Mechanical Technicians. The H-1B requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning the role must typically require at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field. Brex's fintech infrastructure context generally supports that framing, but the specific job description matters when USCIS evaluates the petition.
How do I apply for Mechanical Technician jobs at Brex?
Applications go through Brex's careers portal, where Mechanical Technician roles are listed under engineering or operations. Migrate Mate also aggregates Brex's open positions and filters by visa sponsorship type, so you can confirm which roles are actively accepting candidates on your specific authorization before you apply and tailor your materials accordingly.
Which visa types are commonly used for Mechanical Technician roles at Brex?
Brex sponsors H-1B, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT for Mechanical Technician roles, and has also supported EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa pathways for longer-term hires. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technical occupations. F-1 OPT is typically the entry point for recent graduates before transitioning to H-1B sponsorship.
What qualifications does Brex expect for Mechanical Technician roles?
Brex typically expects hands-on technical experience relevant to hardware systems, equipment maintenance, or physical infrastructure operations, aligned with the demands of a fintech environment. For H-1B eligibility specifically, the role needs to require at minimum a bachelor's degree or its equivalent in a related engineering or technical discipline, so relevant credentials and field-specific experience both carry weight.
How do I time my application around visa processing for a Brex Mechanical Technician role?
Timing depends on your visa category. H-1B cap-subject candidates need to be registered by late March for an October 1 start, so you'd want an offer confirmed well before that window. F-1 OPT candidates should apply at least 90 days before their desired start date. For TN applicants, processing at the port of entry can be same-day, making the timeline considerably more flexible.
