Position Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible to provide nursing care and services in a manner consistent with the hospital’s mission, vision, and ICARE values. In this role, the Licensed Practical Nurse will work with providers to provide patient assessments, treatment, testing, and education using established nursing procedures and techniques in our medical clinic.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Rooms patients, documents pertinent clinical information and details for provider; obtains patient’s weight and vital signs as appropriate reviews and updates patient’s information.

Assists with wound cleaning, dressing changes, skin substitute applications, documentation, debriding and treatment of wounds according to outlined plan of care. Monitors healing progress and completes documentation per department standards.

Obtains specimens for lab testing as ordered by the provider; provides education and supportive services to patients; schedules diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as ordered.

Ensure that infection control and safety protocols are followed. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements for all clinical nursing services and evidence-based practices.

Ensure all established policies, procedures, standards of practice, and conduct guidelines are followed in accordance with all applicable rules, regulations, and hospital policy.

Ensure all supplies, materials, and equipment inventories are maintained at appropriate levels to meet the demands of patient care, safety, utilization, and financial goals.

Monitor and evaluate processes and workflows; provides recommendations to optimize performance/outcomes; works with clinic team and hospital leadership to implement recommended strategies.

Maintains regular, predictable attendance according to hospital policy.

Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Missouri
Current BLS/CPR
Previous wound care experience preferred
Wound care certificate preferred
Ability to foster a positive team atmosphere through effective interpersonal skills
Able to effectively communicate both verbal and written format
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Ability to use multiple electronic systems, software, internet, and computer skills
