Does Chatham University sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Chatham University does sponsor H-1B visas. As a higher education institution, Chatham may qualify as a cap-exempt employer for certain roles, which means eligible positions can bypass the annual H-1B lottery. This is a significant advantage for international applicants, as it allows petitions to be filed at any time of year rather than waiting for the April cap season.
What visa types does Chatham University sponsor?
Chatham University sponsors H-1B visas for specialty occupation roles in its academic and administrative departments. The university also recognizes F-1 OPT, allowing recent graduates to work while transitioning to longer-term status, and TN visas for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional roles.
Which roles or departments are most likely to receive visa sponsorship at Chatham University?
Sponsorship at Chatham University most commonly supports positions requiring specialized academic credentials, including faculty, researchers, and professional staff in graduate program areas such as health sciences, education, and sustainability. Roles with a clear requirement for advanced or field-specific qualifications are generally stronger candidates for sponsorship consideration.
How do I find visa-sponsored job openings at Chatham University?
The most reliable way to find open roles at Chatham that come with sponsorship is to use Migrate Mate, which aggregates and verifies employer sponsorship data so you can search by company and visa type. Filtering by Chatham University on Migrate Mate lets you see current openings alongside the university's sponsorship track record, saving time you'd otherwise spend researching separately.
How do I time my application to Chatham University as an international candidate?
Higher education hiring at Chatham generally follows an academic calendar, with most faculty and professional staff searches opening in fall and early spring. If you're on F-1 OPT, begin your application process well before your authorization expires to give HR adequate time to initiate an H-1B or TN petition. Cap-exempt status, if applicable, removes lottery timing pressure but not processing time.
