Get Your Credentials Evaluated Early
Medical physics positions at CHRISTUS Health require board eligibility or certification from the American Board of Radiology. If your degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation through NACES before applying so hiring managers can assess your equivalency without delays.
Target Radiation Oncology and Imaging Openings
CHRISTUS Health hires physicists primarily to support its oncology and diagnostic imaging programs. Search for openings tied to specific service lines rather than generic physics listings, since these roles are more likely to have approved sponsorship workflows already in place.
Ask HR Directly About Their LCA Process
Before accepting an offer, confirm that CHRISTUS Health's HR team has filed Labor Condition Applications for physics roles before. Employers with prior DOL LCA filings for your job code move significantly faster once you clear the offer stage.
Understand the H-1B Cap Timeline for Healthcare
CHRISTUS Health is a nonprofit health system, but not all of its entities are cap-exempt. Clarify whether the specific facility making your offer qualifies for cap-exempt H-1B filing, which would let you start without waiting for the annual October 1 start date.
Build a File That Supports PERM If Needed
CHRISTUS Health sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for physics roles. Start collecting proof of your specialized training, publications, and clinical hours now. PERM recruitment documentation requires your employer to advertise the role broadly, so gaps in your record can stall the labor certification.
Find Sponsoring Physics Roles on Migrate Mate
Filtering physics openings by sponsorship history saves you from applying to roles where the employer has no prior experience with H-1B or Green Card filings. Use Migrate Mate to surface CHRISTUS Health physics positions confirmed to have a sponsorship track record.

Find Physics at CHRISTUS Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does CHRISTUS Health sponsor H-1B visas for Physics jobs?
Yes, CHRISTUS Health sponsors H-1B visas for qualified physics professionals. The health system has filed petitions for physics and medical physics roles across its facilities. Whether your specific offer qualifies for cap-exempt H-1B filing depends on the legal entity of the hiring facility, so confirm that detail with HR before signing anything.
How do I apply for Physics jobs at CHRISTUS Health?
Applications go through CHRISTUS Health's career portal. Physics roles are typically listed under oncology, radiology, or imaging service lines rather than a standalone physics category. Migrate Mate also aggregates CHRISTUS Health physics openings filtered by visa sponsorship history, which helps you identify roles where the employer has already established an H-1B or Green Card filing process.
Which visa types does CHRISTUS Health use for Physics professionals?
CHRISTUS Health primarily uses the H-1B visa for initial work authorization and supports EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for physics employees pursuing permanent residence. Physics roles qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS guidelines because they require at minimum a bachelor's degree in physics, medical physics, or a closely related field.
What qualifications does CHRISTUS Health expect for Physics roles?
Clinical medical physics positions typically require a master's or doctoral degree in medical physics, along with American Board of Radiology board eligibility or certification. CAMPEP-accredited residency training is often required or strongly preferred for patient-facing roles. Research or imaging physics positions may have different requirements depending on the service line.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for Physics hires at CHRISTUS Health?
If your offer qualifies for cap-exempt H-1B filing, USCIS standard processing runs roughly three to six months, with premium processing available to reduce that to about 15 business days. Green Card sponsorship through PERM is a longer path, often two to four years depending on your country of birth and priority date movement under the DOL and USCIS processing queues.
