Focus on technical and data-heavy roles
Cognite's sponsorship activity centers on software engineering, data science, and industrial AI positions. Targeting roles that align with its core platform, Cognite Data Fusion, gives you the strongest chance of landing a sponsored position.
Understand the visa types Cognite supports
Cognite sponsors H-1B visas and supports Green Card pathways through EB-2 and EB-3 categories. If you're on F-1 OPT or TN status, these may also be viable entry points, confirm your situation with the recruiter early.
Highlight domain expertise in industrial sectors
Cognite serves energy, manufacturing, and heavy industry clients. Candidates who combine software skills with knowledge of industrial operations, IoT, or asset-intensive industries stand out against generalist applicants competing for the same sponsored roles.
Engage early about immigration support
Cognite's recruiting team can clarify sponsorship eligibility before you invest heavily in the process. Raising visa needs during the initial screening, not the offer stage, avoids surprises and signals you've done your homework on their process.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified sponsorship opportunities
Searching broadly wastes time when you need a confirmed sponsor. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors like Cognite so you can filter by real sponsorship history and focus your applications where visa support is actually on the table.
Position yourself for Green Card sponsorship from day one
Cognite has initiated Green Card processes for employees, suggesting a longer-term talent investment. Framing your career goals around multi-year contribution, not just immediate visa needs, aligns with the kind of retention-focused sponsorship they've shown.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Cognite sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Cognite sponsors H-1B visas. The company has an active sponsorship track record, particularly for technical roles in software engineering, data integration, and industrial AI. If you're applying on H-1B status or need initial sponsorship through the lottery, confirm eligibility directly with Cognite's recruiting team during your first conversation.
Which visa types does Cognite sponsor?
Cognite sponsors H-1B visas and supports permanent residency through EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways. The company also accepts candidates on F-1 OPT and TN visa status, which can serve as entry points before transitioning to H-1B sponsorship. The specific visa pathway available to you will depend on your role, qualifications, and current immigration status.
What roles at Cognite are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Cognite is concentrated in technical disciplines, software engineering, data engineering, machine learning, and product development roles tied to the Cognite Data Fusion platform. Candidates with backgrounds in industrial data, IoT infrastructure, or cloud-native development are particularly well-positioned. Business and operations roles are less commonly sponsored, though exceptions exist depending on seniority and specialization.
How do I apply for a job at Cognite as a visa-sponsored candidate?
Start by identifying open roles where your technical background aligns with Cognite's industrial AI platform. Apply directly through Cognite's careers page and flag your visa status in the initial screening. Migrate Mate also lists Cognite among verified sponsors, making it easy to find active openings where immigration support is already confirmed as part of the hiring picture.
How do I know if Cognite will sponsor my specific visa situation?
Cognite's sponsorship history covers H-1B and Green Card categories, but eligibility for your specific situation depends on your role, degree, and current status. The most reliable approach is to raise your immigration needs during the recruiter screening call. Cognite's HR and legal teams typically assess sponsorship feasibility on a case-by-case basis, so earlier transparency leads to faster clarity.
