Map your credentials to CFA-preferred roles
Maxim Group's research and investment banking desks lean heavily on candidates with CFA credentials or progress toward them. Before applying, align your resume to show quantitative analysis, financial modeling, or sector coverage experience that maps directly to their open analyst and associate roles.
Verify your role qualifies as specialty occupation
Not every finance title clears the E-3 specialty occupation bar. Use O*NET to confirm your target role requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Generic titles like 'financial associate' can draw scrutiny, so request a precise job title from the recruiter before the offer is finalized.
Ask about LCA timing before accepting an offer
Maxim Group must file a certified Labor Condition Application with DOL before you can apply at the consulate. Ask the HR or legal team for the expected LCA certification date during the offer stage so you can book your consulate appointment without delays to your start date.
Benchmark your salary against DOL prevailing wages
Your offered salary must meet or exceed the DOL prevailing wage for your role and work location. Run the OFLC Wage Search using your specific SOC code and Maxim Group's office city before negotiations close, so any shortfall can be corrected before the LCA is submitted.
Use Migrate Mate to handle the E-3 filing
Once Maxim Group certifies your LCA, the consulate application is yours to manage. Migrate Mate's flat-fee E-3 service pairs you with a dedicated visa expert who prepares and reviews your full application package, keeping the process on track for your intended start date.
Target capital markets and research openings directly
Maxim Group's E-3 sponsorship history clusters around research, investment banking, and capital markets functions rather than back-office or support roles. Focus your outreach on equity research, deal execution, and sector coverage teams where an Australian professional's specialist background justifies the sponsorship process.
Maxim Group LLC E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Maxim Group sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, Maxim Group sponsors E-3 visas for qualified Australian professionals. Sponsorship is concentrated in investment banking, equity research, and capital markets roles that meet the E-3 specialty occupation requirement. The firm also sponsors H-1B visa, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas, indicating an established international hiring process across multiple visa categories.
Which roles at Maxim Group typically receive E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship at Maxim Group tends to align with roles in investment banking, equity research, and capital markets where a specific finance, economics, or business degree is a genuine requirement. Analyst and associate-level positions in deal execution and sector coverage are the most likely candidates. Generic support or administrative titles are unlikely to clear the specialty occupation threshold.
How do I start the E-3 application process at Maxim Group?
After receiving a job offer, Maxim Group's HR or outside immigration counsel files a Labor Condition Application with DOL. Once the LCA is certified, you complete the DS-160, pay the MRV fee, and schedule your consulate interview in Australia. USCIS is not involved in the standard consulate-based E-3 process. Migrate Mate can manage the full application package on your behalf.
How long does E-3 sponsorship take at Maxim Group?
DOL typically certifies the LCA within seven business days. Consulate appointment wait times at Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth vary by season and are the main variable in your overall timeline. Most applicants who have their documents ready before booking can complete the process within four to six weeks of receiving their certified LCA, though consulate backlogs can extend that window.
How do I strengthen my E-3 application for a Maxim Group role?
Ensure your degree certificate and transcripts clearly show a field directly related to your offered role, such as finance, economics, or accounting. A credential evaluation from a NACES-member organization helps if your Australian degree title differs from standard U.S. naming conventions. Confirm the offered salary meets DOL prevailing wage levels using the OFLC Wage Search before the LCA is submitted.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at Maxim Group?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
