Align your degree to aviation roles
E-3 requires a specialty occupation match between your degree and the job. For StandardAero, roles in aerospace engineering, avionics, or maintenance planning carry the clearest degree-to-role alignment. A general engineering or business degree alone won't satisfy the specialty occupation test without direct field relevance.
Research StandardAero's MRO hiring cycles
StandardAero operates maintenance, repair, and overhaul facilities with project-driven hiring peaks. Target applications ahead of major contract renewals or facility expansions, which often trigger specialist hiring. Tracking aviation industry news and StandardAero press releases helps you time your outreach before roles go live.
Confirm your employer will file the LCA
Before accepting any offer, get written confirmation that StandardAero's HR or legal team will file the Labor Condition Application with DOL. The LCA must be certified before your visa application proceeds, and delays at this step are the most common reason E-3 timelines slip.
Benchmark your salary against DOL prevailing wage
Use the OFLC Wage Search to find the prevailing wage for your specific occupation code and work location before negotiating your offer. StandardAero's offer must meet or exceed that threshold for the LCA to be approved, so knowing the floor gives you a stronger negotiating position.
Find verified E-3 sponsors through Migrate Mate
Search Migrate Mate to see which aerospace and aviation employers have active E-3 LCA filing history, including companies like StandardAero. Filtering by occupation and location shows you which roles have been sponsored before, saving you from applying to positions where sponsorship is unlikely.
Prepare for consular interview with role-specific evidence
Consular officers at Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth will ask how your degree directly relates to your StandardAero role. Bring your offer letter, the certified LCA, and any credentials showing aerospace or technical specialization. Vague answers about job duties are the leading cause of additional scrutiny at interview.
StandardAero E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does StandardAero Business Aviation Services sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, StandardAero Business Aviation Services has sponsored E-3 visas for Australian professionals in technical and specialty occupation roles within its aviation operations. Sponsorship is not offered across all positions, so you should confirm with the hiring team early in the process whether a specific role qualifies and whether the company will support the filing.
Which roles at StandardAero typically receive E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship at StandardAero is most commonly associated with roles in aerospace engineering, avionics, maintenance planning, and technical operations, where a specific degree in a directly related field is a genuine job requirement. Administrative or general operations roles are less likely to meet the specialty occupation threshold that E-3 requires.
How do I start the E-3 application process at StandardAero?
Once you have a written job offer, StandardAero's HR or immigration counsel files the Labor Condition Application with DOL. After LCA certification, you complete the DS-160, pay the MRV fee, and schedule your consular interview in Australia. USCIS is not involved in the consular E-3 path, which keeps the timeline shorter than many other work visa categories.
How long does the E-3 process take with StandardAero?
The DOL typically certifies an LCA within seven business days. Consular appointment availability in Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth then drives the overall timeline, which can range from a few weeks to a couple of months depending on the time of year. Starting the LCA filing immediately after your offer is accepted is the best way to avoid unnecessary delays.
How do I find open E-3 jobs at StandardAero?
Migrate Mate lists roles at employers with verified E-3 LCA filing history, making it easier to identify positions at companies like StandardAero that have actively sponsored Australian professionals. You can filter by industry and occupation to narrow results to aerospace and aviation roles where E-3 sponsorship is a realistic part of the hiring process.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at Standardaero Business Aviation Services?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
